I found it odd that they left the propeller upright and did not lock it horizontally to keep the overall "footprint" of the system smaller and cleaner.

Pretty cool, the downside is that you're gonna need a pilot's licence to fly one anyways, and you're gonna have to know how to communicate with air traffic control, in english (because they don't allow other languages), and it would probably be easier and cheaper to just take a plane anyways.

But this is definitely a step in the right direction...

The FAA is preeeeetty darn strict when it comes to flight... and it's why modern aircraft are so safe.
