This isn't a surprise. Most states still offer a choice of execution (whether the inmate selects it or not; in some states it's at the discretion of the prison system).

New Hampshire, for example, provides either the gallows or the needle.

Easy to administer; relatively painless compared to other methods of execution.

Although botched injections are not unknown...
