Last night I rebuilt the search index for TOL. It took almost 10 hours to complete!!!!

The good news is its done and now every post in every thread at TOL is indexed and therefore searchable.

Are you trying to tell us that some people here are excessively verbose?

:ha: no not really....

It takes this long because we have well over 300,000 posts here at TOL, not only that but all the posts that have ever been deleted also get re-indexed (even though they are empty..... the index system doesn't know that until it checks) therefore millions of post id's must be indexed. It's extremely time intensive.
