That's easy, PB's and TM's conversion...which went a long way toward dulling the crushing disappointment of my whole "free pony" campaign's abject failure.

Other wacky things that happened in 2009

- The government takeover of health care
- The government takeover of banking institutions
- The government takeover of the auto industry

- The swine flu and H1N1 scare

- Michael Jackson died
- Tiger Woods imploded

What other things can you think of?

- The government takeover of health care
When did this happen? I must have missed it. :squint:

All that's been passed so far is reform of the insurance industry, only the house bill has a public INSURANCE option at all. No bill has actually been signed into law.

Nothing was done concerning taking over hospitals, doctors or anything else . . . . so If there was government takeover of healthcare, it must not have been in the U.S. :idunno:

As for memorable things from 2009:

National/International

Obama's Inauguration

A banner year for fossil discoveries
Ardipithecus ramidus
Darwinopterus
Anchiornis huxleyi

Top 10 scientific discoveries of 2009 (According to wired magazine)

Personal

Visiting caves

Presenting research

Human reproduction . . . . :dizzy:

Random

Finding out casinos are some of the best places to eat.

We lost a lot of celebrities this past year, did we not? Observation: It's far too easy to become a celebrity these days.

The old year was almost out the door before I found out about the new Hitchhiker's Guide novel by Eoin Colfer. I need to get out more.

If I hear one more thing about Tiger's Wood. . ..

2009 = :down:

2010, let's go!

Come on, there were some good things in 2009.

Michael the molester Jackson is gone. Ted the drunken murderer Kennedy is gone. Archaelogists found Nazareth as told in the Bible. The hoax of global warming was exposed to the world. OJ Simpson went to jail. Bob Stoops and OU's streak of BCS loses comes to an end at 5 straight, albeit by not having to play in one. And the day of the Lord is one day closer.

Nothing.

What Lucky said and I do agree with some points stated here. For me, it is just another 21st century year and I am lost to this life mainly. My own ailments blur out the rest.

Oh yes, my grandchildren are becoming adults and that is exciting, but their world is miles away from my understanding about the world around me.

This is very personal here, but yes I do. I was good, sure in most ways when we think of a good Christian, I was good. I had spiritual problems. Think about the first sin, problems lay where one has to come to know from something personal and perhaps tragic.
