What is your conjecture on the fullness of the gentiles in Romans 11:25?

Complete in what way? He says we are going to heaven, and of course Israel will inherit their land. But what makes it full? Here is the chat gpt reply, which shows KJV and NKJV (I don't speak early modern English) got it right. I don't think there was a Bob Hill article on it. Probably because we don't know his completion is.

1. What does plērōma mean?

The Greek noun πλήρωμα (plērōma) comes from the verb πληρόω (plēroō) meaning “to fill, to make full, to complete.”
In Greek literature and the New Testament, plērōma can mean:

  1. Full number – a complete quantity, the total amount.
  2. Fullness / completion – the state of being brought to completion.
  3. That which fills – the content that fills something.
  4. Fullness in a redemptive sense – the full realization of God’s plan.

In Paul’s writings, the word plērōma often carries an eschatological (“end-times”) sense of completion of a divine purpose.

2. What might Paul mean by “the fullness of the Gentiles”?

Commentators usually understand it in one (or a blend) of these senses:

A. The full number of Gentiles who will come to faith

This is probably the most common interpretation.
Here plērōma means “the full in-gathering”—the total number God intends.

Under this reading, Paul is saying:

Israel’s partial hardening will last until the full number of Gentiles enters God’s people.

B. The Gentiles reaching a state of spiritual maturity

Some propose that plērōma refers not to a number but to a quality—the fullness of Gentile faith and obedience (cf. Rom 11:11–12; Eph 4:13).

Paul Felter surmised we replace the angels cast out. Well, that is quite a few. And as good of a guess as anybody.

I only have an opinion about the fulness of the Gentiles at this time. Here goes:
I believe there may come a time when God sees that the generation, which is alive at that moment, has peeked out as to their salvation.

Sort of reminds me of when God realized the generation of the children of Israel during the Exodus had rebelled to their maximin. He then had them wander 40 years until they all died out, except Caleb and Joshua, and allowed the next generation to enter the Promise Land. We believers may be able to tell when that time comes by the god-less behavior of mankind on earth ... but really only God will know the time for sure.

It may seem like God has forgotten Israel ... but there is scripture in Ezekiel - I should have said Lamentations 4:6... which may be a hint that they were to suffer at the hands of their enemies for many many many years this seems to still be happening yet one day Israel will be restored. Until then I think the Lord is harvesting the Gentiles to be grafted into the promises. Until the time when the fulness of the Gentiles is accomplished Israel will remain blind ...

That thought has crossed my mind.

Do you think it's related to this:

$$ Lu 21:24
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Jerusalem I think (especially now the temple mount) is still trodden down of the Gentiles today.

No. He is telling of the 70th week of Daniel. Also told in Matthew 24 and Revelation. I am talking about fullness of the gentiles. In what way is the Body full?

Edit: I appreciate the effort in this one. I can see why you think that could be.

24 “Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,

Israel will be punished as a nation for their sin. After the murder of Stephen by the Apostle Paul, that was it. The 70th week and reconciliation never came.

25 “Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,

There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times.

26 “And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;

And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”

This is prophecy. The dispensation of grace and saving gentiles is not. Which is why Paul calls it a mystery. It isn't in scripture, or in the case of the crucifixion, it was hidden in scripture. (nobody knew what Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53 meant)

That is the theory of replacing the devil and his angels. Maybe.
