1 Peter 1:17 If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth; 18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.

Addressing the Father...

...a perspective from E. M. Bounds~ The preferred reverence is this: the relations of "paternity" must forever exclude all lightness, frivolity and pertness as well as all undue familiarity. Solemnity and gravity become the House of Prayer. It has been well said, "The one invokes God under the name of Father and realizes the gracious and beneficient love of God, must at the same time remember and recognize God's glorious majesty, which is neither annulled nor impaired, but rather supremely intensified through His fatherly love.
An appeal to God as Father, if not associated with reverence and homage before the Divine Majesty, would betray a want of understanding the character of God and would show a lack of the attributes of a child.
