If you can show another candidate that defends Judeo-Christian doctrine and the Judeo-Christian based United States Constitution like Ted Cruz has, then please do.

how does Cruz' capitulation to Thump change your opinion of him, if at all?

I think it shows that he has less courage in his convictions than his supporters thought.

Without a doubt Donald Trump is the king of sleaze. Making fun of Cruz's wife, making up stories of Cruz's father being involved in the JFK assassination, and let's not forget how Trump's good friend David Pecker at the National Inquirer started the adultery lies about Cruz.

That being said: Being in politics involves compromise. While Ted Cruz didn't compromise his stance on morality, he found it necessary on two fronts to back Donald Trump.

#1) He needed to be seen by others as a loyalist to the Republican Party.
#2) Like many conservatives, Cruz doesn't want another 4 years of democrats.

Trump is a liberal and Ted Cruz knows it. Whether or not Donald Trump wins the Presidency, Ted Cruz will be running for President again in 2020.
