I wish I could do this for everywhere I go (though most places are fine with me not wearing one).

Unfortunately, there's at least one place I've been to where the receiving desk absolutely refuses to even talk to anyone who doesn't have a mask on, and will refuse to unload my truck until I come back with a mask, despite the plexiglass window between me and them and the fact that they're already wearing a mask.

So I put a dirty one on whenever I go there, if nothing else, so that I can at least get in and out of there as quickly as possible, and it only goes on while I'm inside the doorway, and comes off immediately after I leave the desk.
I get it. I occasionally find situations where I have no viable option as well but we stand and fight the battle we can win and the enemy does the same.

The fact is that the left has very nearly won and it's gotten to the point now where the exercising of our freedom puts our livelihood at risk and we have to make decisions about which battles are worth fighting. The left will continue to win too. The only thing that can stop them now is a civil war, which they stupidly want and think they would win, by the way.

Of course you have the right but shirt and shoe requirements have mostly to do with keeping weirdos out of the store not fear based politics.

But the store owner might think that non mask wearers are weirdos. Should he be denied the freedom to think that thought by the conservative thought police?

Shirt and shoe requirements aren't about virtue signaling and political correctness while mask wearing policies are ONLY about that at this point.

It's about politics sometimes but many people have swallowed the kool-aid and actually do believe that the China sniffles is the 2nd coming of the bubonic plague. Do you think businesses should not have the freedom to set their own rules as they see fit? Do you think the government should have the right to dictate to a private business that they should be forbidden to display the No Shirt, No shoes, No mask, No service signs?

If he thinks that, he's either stupid or a leftist woke mask Nazi. Business owners have the right to be stupid for sure. Whether they have the right to e anti-American is debatable but in either case they do not have the right to expect to exercise such a right without consequence. They do not have the right to expect you to think they're right and to act as if they aren't being stupid or anti-American or both.

It is, in fact, Christians who are willing to tolerate their stupidity that makes them feel free to be stupid! The only reason political correctness works is because we let it! The wacko idiot left is NOT in the majority in the country, not even close. Even most of the people who vote demoncrat live their lives as conservatives. Even Nancy Pelosi doesn't want you in her neighborhood uninvited nor is she out and about giving away her own money to people on the basis of their need and her abundance. It's only other people's money that most leftists are liberal with and its only other people who they think should be able to live their lives without the consequences of their actions.

And you should live your life based on the lie that they believe? You should have to pretend to be as scared as they are by wearing a mask that does not work and practicing social distancing which has just been shown by an MIT study to also not work!

I say, no way! AND I am very prepared to explain myself as to why.

Of course they have the right. A business could require you to wear clown shoes and a Darth Vader mask while in their store. Would you wear them even though there is no reason to do so whatsoever or would you find another store to shop in?
Do you think the government should have the right to dictate to a private business that they should be forbidden to display the No Shirt, No shoes, No mask, No service signs?
I hope I've clearly answered this question at this point. The business owner has the right to ask you to do all sorts of things and you have the right to refuse. You can comply if you want, of course, but where are you ever going to draw the line?

I go to a local corner grocery store for 90% of my needs. This local store does not require masks. I go to one national chain grocery store that says they require masks. In that one I carry my mask in my pocket in case I need it. I've never needed it. No one cares anymore. The reason I go to that store is because it is the only store that carries the kind of eggs I like - eggs from pasture raised (not just cage free) chickens. Much darker yolk = maximum nutrition. About 2% of customers don't wear masks there. I'm one of the 2%.

I love that!

For the time being that may be actually better than not wearing one at all.

That's very good. I think you and I are almost entirely in agreement. The major difference is that I'd skip the eggs before I'd ever put that mask on, if forced to make the choice. The store owner's right to require the mask would cost him the ability to sell me eggs or anything else.

I will say this, though.

Walmart decided that they would implement the policy to have anyone who enters their stores wear a mask.

My town's walmart seems to have quickly abandoned that idea, simply because there were very few people who wore one... Unfortunately, I didn't find out about it until a few months ago, after several months of not going there because of that policy (and I hardly went anywhere else because I don't go through groceries very quickly). It finally got to the point where I had to get groceries, and found out from my mom that they had abandoned that policy a while back.

Thankfully the closest Walmart here still requires masks.

However, the only grocery store in my town has an employee who refuses to wear a mask. They are deservedly losing business even though people have to drive 15 miles further.

I actually called in advanced and found out right away that several stores, including Walmart, Chipotle, Home Depot and others, still have the sign outside but only actually REQUIRE their employees to wear a mask.

There were some however (KFC, Taco Bell and a few others) that do require customers to wear a mask and so I don't eat there for the time being.

Thankfully, I haven't had too many issues at the truck stop-owned stores of the chains you mentioned.

I lived in California long ago and hated it then. The Left Coast.

I never really thought about it much until Covid and me getting interested in politics and seeing just how terrible Democrats are. I guess I am lucky to have my eyes opened now before I get stuck here. I don't plan to make my living here that's for sure.

Biden thinks it is every American's patriotic duty to wear masks, to support Sodomy, to support abortion, to support democrat claims that voting securities disenfranchise voters, to support racist Black Lives Matter reparations demands, to defund the police and give thugs the right to assault cops, and more.

I live on the left coast and have been quite defiant about the mask issue, there is absolutely no science that backs it up therefore I do not wear one. Since we were babies we crawled around on our hands & knees sampling genomes of bacteria & virus' allowing our immune system to fight off said invaders to our body, I see no reason to upset that God . Given that the COVID has roughly a 98% survivabiliy rate I see no reason to take special precautions for my personal health or safety. Oh, I know the libtard socialists insist that I am unfeeling & uncaring for their health & safety by not wearing it but, really? If you are in terror because a bunch of medical quacks like Dr. Fauci told you how desperately dangerous this virus is than the onus is on you to hide out in your home (under your bed possibly), wear masks, and do whatever CNN tells you do to escape the ravages of the deadly RONA virus which 98% of us survive from. Maybe you say I am callous, that I have lost nobody close to me because of this virus, well....you would be wrong but, every person I know that has succumbed to it has been in bad health to begin with. I am not willing to cede any more rights to the state than I already have so, for those that are still worried about this virus or it's variants than YOU need to protect yourself, it is not a societal issue it is a personal issue.

From the University and of California at San Fransisco:

There are several strands of evidence supporting the efficacy of masks.

One category of evidence comes from laboratory studies of respiratory droplets and the ability of various masks to block them. An experiment using high-speed video found that hundreds of droplets ranging from 20 to 500 micrometers were generated when saying a simple phrase, but that nearly all these droplets were blocked when the mouth was covered by a damp washcloth. Another study of people who had influenza or the common cold found that wearing a surgical mask significantly reduced the amount of these respiratory viruses emitted in droplets and aerosols.

But the strongest evidence in favor of masks come from studies of real-world scenarios. “The most important thing are the epidemiologic data,” said Rutherford. Because it would be unethical to assign people to not wear a mask during a pandemic, the epidemiological evidence has come from so-called “experiments of nature.”

A recent study published in Health Affairs, for example, compared the COVID-19 growth rate before and after mask mandates in 15 states and the District of Columbia. It found that mask mandates led to a slowdown in daily COVID-19 growth rate, which became more apparent over time. The first five days after a mandate, the daily growth rate slowed by 0.9 percentage-points compared to the five days prior to the mandate; at three weeks, the daily growth rate had slowed by 2 percentage-points.

Such an opinion is completely out of touch with the way human beings actually evaluate risks.

If the risk of dying in a plane crash were 2%, people would not even dream of getting in an airplane.

What if the only other means of travel had a 4% fatality rate?

Real science does not support the myth that masks prevent the spread of covid. However, real propaganda backed by scientists who ignore the real science, does continue to promote masks as though masks are essential. That is sad, wrong, and harmful.

If the risk of getting a serious disease or dying from a vaccine is .02% I suspect anyone with a brain would hesitate to take the vaccine.

Then people would not take any of these means of travel unless, for some reason, the need for travel was so dire that they would be willing to take a 2% or 4% risk.

Let's be clear: this figure of 98% is a trick - the naive are duped into thinking "gee, that's not a very bid risk". Well, it obviously is an unacceptably high risk given the stakes: death.

Again, no one, short of a daredevil or a nutcase, would voluntarily undertake an activity with a survival rate of 98% unless, of course, the payoff is worth taking the risk. And this is clearly not the case for Covid - the only payoff in not taking the vaccine is avoiding an absolutely miniscule of death (or severe injury) from the vaccine.

A final example to show how profoundly misleading this 98% figure is - wingsuit flying. A 2012 University of Colorado study found that for wingsuit BASE jumping there was approximately one severe injury for every 500 jumps undertaken. This is a survival rate of 99.8!. Yet, we all know that anyone who takes up wingsuit flying is deemed to be a daredevil and, quite possibly, irresponsible with their own life. Your risk of dying from Covid - if we take that 98 % figure - is 10 times higher than dying on a wingsuit jump!
