I wonder if the only reason the vax works at all as a vax is

In every real world application it helped. Frequently in dramatic fashion. Every hospital in the US that was able to use the methods I listed had a death rate that was at least half the US average. It's use in India was dramatic and conclusively good.

Hospitals have killed many covid patients by applying wrong methods of treatment that make patients worse rather than better. Bad methods of treatment for covid are similar to old methods of blood-letting medical professionals wrongly imagined were necessary to cure other diseases.

We need to know on what basis people either support or oppose ivermectin. Popular narratives and group-think approval of unscientific propaganda are common but should be dismissed out of hand. There are reports that ivermectin has done well in treating covid. Most if not all have been about as fortunate as me. After more than 6 billion vaccinations given worldwide, the vaccines have been shown to be overwhelmingly safe and quite effective.
You have been shielded from the true horror stories of all those who have been horribly affected by covid vaccines. Ignorance may provide you with some bliss but it does not help society solve huge problems that liars and crooks do not want to be exposed.

Vaccines are neither better than nor worse than covid. Both do serious damage to those who fall victim to the disease and attempted man-made 'cure.'
