I doubt Trump could play the triangle, let alone a banjo...

As disgusting as it is all too predictably pathetic from this risible administration. I wonder low long Trump and Hegseth would last on a boat before they whined about the essentials - big Macs and beer...

Naval families with loved ones deployed for months on US warships amid the Iran war have reacted with fury to Donald Trump and the defense secretary Pete Hegsethโ€™s dismissal of their concerns about the extreme pressures and dire conditions they are enduring.

The Guardian has talked to three naval families who have been following the physical and mental stresses bearing down on their relatives with mounting alarm. The families, with loved ones on board the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Tripoli, all spoke anonymously for fear of retribution against their active duty relatives.

The USS Abraham Lincoln, an aircraft carrier with more than 5,000 sailors and marines onboard, has been at sea for nearly nine months, having begun its deployment in November. There have been reports of multiple suicide attempts including jumping overboard.

When Trump was asked on Friday whether naval families were worried about conditions on board, he replied: โ€œNo, theyโ€™re not.โ€ He said that the Lincolnโ€™s deployment, now in its ninth month, was โ€œnot nearly long enoughโ€.

Earlier, Hegseth also swatted away familiesโ€™ concerns, saying that the reality onboard the Lincoln had been โ€œcompletely misrepresentedโ€.

Probably about as long as Frodo and Sam on their journey to Mt. Doom.

Well, I doubt there were such things as Big Macs in Tolkien's universe but don't kid yourself. Neither Trump or Hegseth would get on a ship like this in the first place and if it somehow did happen - they'd be using communications for a rescue instead of expecting people serving their country to endure the hardships faced by the actual sailors aboard.

So much for supporting the troops.. when Bonespurs Trump was asked whether the deployment had gone too long, his answer was:

"No. Not nearly long enough."

On an optimistic note, though...

Massive Trump merchandise store goes out of business - because nobody is buying anything

Oh, maybe you can explain what "point" there was to JR's post?

Explaining it won't make you understand it.

Use your brain. You'll figure it out eventually... Or not...

Okay, don't. Meanwhile, Trump's approval drops yet further with many Republicans expecting this war to go on and on...

Aug. 17Trump's approval rating dipped to 33%, and his disapproval rating went up one point from earlier this month, to 64%, in the latest Reuters/Ipsos survey of 1,166 U.S. adults taken Aug. 14-17 (margin of error 3).

The poll found 80% of Americans, including 87% of Democrats and 71% of Republicans, think U.S. involvement in Iran "will go on for an extended period of time," while just 16% said it would likely end in a few weeks.

Exactly, he never has cared about the troops and he certainly doesn't now.

Not surprised the stores going out of business, these days even the most die hard Trump supporter has to think of groceries, power and gas too...

He lies about everything. And his base will still come up with an excuse for his lack of concern by blaming BidenObamaClintonSorosLibrulsImmigrantsDEIPublicSchoolsAtheistsSocialSecurityMedicarePriusDriversClimateActivistsPeopleWithPurpleHair.

But - the base is shrinking a little. For a few of them out there, the honeymoon is finally over.

Thank God nobody ever had to think about those things under any other administration.

Well, sure you would have, but I don't recall any other administration having vanity merchandise stores like this for gullible patrons to waste their dollars on junk, or gas prices being at an all time high, inflation rates through the roof, depleted oil reserves thanks to a war that was apparently won in March and is yet still going on escalating consumer prices as a result etc etc.

Are you happy with the state of this ongoing war?
