So, Trump's posted a coupla memes about Lake Ontario, which in itself is hardly unusual but one of them consists of ducks carrying machine guns and with his...*hair*. The other is of him kicking over the Lake Ontario sign, replacing it with a dum(b) Lake America sign and doing that ridiculous...*dance* of his which seems to involve gyrating about on the spot and looking like a complete clown. Unsurprisingly, both have met with mockery and ridicule across the board with poster comments underneath the article reflecting what I suspect a good deal of Americans are thinking - especially with gas prices through the roof and a cost of living crisis.

Well, you can call it that if you want, most people aren't and Lake Ontario will remain Lake Ontario to most people as well no matter how many executive orders Trump signs.
But responding on X, Canadian PM Carney blew Trump's claims out of the water by pointing out it has been known as Lake Ontario for centuries and will remain so "now and always".
He said: "The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari'io, which, appropriately, means 'the lake is beautiful, the lake is big'.
"The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.
"Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always."

While Trump is embarrassing himself and America yet further with more wanting to rename things - the pacific and atlantic oceans - and getting mocked all ends up for it:

Never saw that, but there has to have been a point at which every person who stood behind him and clapped dutifully or knowingly lied through their teeth to prop up dear leader - there was that point where their integrity died. Took its last breath, and they knew it, and they let it die. That's on them. History will not be kind to them.

With this current administration I've precious little sympathy. I suspect Leavitt resigned for other reasons than she's stated and there's zero integrity with his *elite*. An absolute global embarrassment.
