    Maunday Thursday

YES. After 6pm on Wednesday. Matthew 26:20. The Jewish Calendar date changes at nightfall. They had Supper on 14 Nisan. The start of 13 Nisan was on Tuesday. The start of 14 Nisan was on Wednesday. Remember? Jesus had to keep waking up his disciples in Gethsemane, and that was after their meal.

    Maunday Thursday

In modern terms, the Last Supper was Wednesday night. In Feast Calendar terms (Leviticus 23), the Last Supper was at the beginning of 14 Nisan, Passover. The evening. By morning, Jesus had been betrayed and interrogated, Peter had denied Christ three times, then some time around dawn Pilate...

    Maunday Thursday

I forgot to address this when you said it, but it doesn't seem like you are likely to hold to this view anymore, soon, so this is mostly just for the purpose of educating the reader. This doesn't make any sense at all, since Jews were not allowed to travel on Sabbath days. Leaving the house...

    Maunday Thursday

The problem with Jesus being crucified on Friday is that it makes Jesus out to be a liar. I'd call that a pretty significant advantage for my view that He was crucified on Thursday, which resolves that problem. Also, having Unleavened Bread on Friday fits the fact that in at least three verses...

How to respond to classical theists who dodge Open Theism arguments

Exactly what I've been trying to convey in this thread. See posts #61 and #78. But he's blindered himself and calls any explanation of what is being said that does not actively affirm "omniscience," "song and dance." EXCELLENT POINT! For those reading, who perhaps might not have just...

How to respond to classical theists who dodge Open Theism arguments

Well said! Lon's response: "But somehow, he must be saying God is omniscient, right? RIGHT!? ..... Right......?"

    Maunday Thursday

You're not making any sense at all, in light of what the narrative of Scripture says. The calendar in Leviticus 23 is based on the "evening" part of "evening and morning" being the start of the new day, meaning that the new day starts at nightfall, not at sundown, and that day doesn't end until...

How to respond to classical theists who dodge Open Theism arguments

What does the context tell us? Does my view or your view better fit the narrative? Jesus knew he was about to be betrayed, and He knew that Judas was going to be the one to do it. He knew that Peter would likely follow the soldiers as they took Him before the authorities. Jesus knew the area...

    Question About Open Theism

It invalidates the concept of infallible foreknowledge, yes. Or as some like to call it, Exhaustive Divine Foreknowledge (EDF). But the Bible shows many times where God thought men would do one thing, and they ended up doing another.

    Question About Open Theism

And yes, if someone was able to choose other than what God foreknew, then His knowledge could not, by definition, be infallible.

    Question About Open Theism

Causal to be fixed? Not necessarily. But it does preclude alternatives. So in a sense, yes? Recommend reading this: https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/free-will-foreknowledge/

How to respond to classical theists who dodge Open Theism arguments

Taking you off ignore for a moment because this needs to be addressed. It's very hard to see omniscience in Peter and Jesus' dialogue. You have to read it into the verse. But you can't understand that until you have a paradigm shift, so as to NOT read omniscience into the text. Bearing...

How to respond to classical theists who dodge Open Theism arguments

It's not hard for God to prompt someone or to jog someone's memory in the moment. It's not necessary for Him to know what's going to happen in order to make something happen.
