What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

Sorry, your "new" version of scripture leads you astray. Seemingly, it is addressed to "you who believe" (verse 7) The Jews have been the people of God since Abraham received the promises. The Gentiles? Not so much. If that is the way you see it, so be it. But I take the words to heart like...

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

I already believed that Jesus died for my sins and was raised from the dead. Fat lot of good it would have dome me though, as I was still a rebellious loser. Yep, on the last day. We do have our part to play. No disobedient man will be granted eternal life.

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

All believers are Christians. Neither point bears any weight. Paul went to a place where believers were being called Christians before Paul was called one. Correct, they are both called Christians now. But you say Jesus is coming back early for Gentile believers and not Jewish believers. It...

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

I don't see either word in 1 Peter. It could just as easily be juxtaposing Gentiles with Christians. It is written,,, "are now the people of God". He is talking to Gentiles who used to NOT be "the people of God" We are all one now I went back and fixed that misnaming of the "early escape"...

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

Christian is simply a title put on the early believers at Antioch, both Jew and Gentile. Jews went there and spread the "good word". Paul was far from the first. Every man in Christ can be called a Christian. It would have been an apt moniker from the day of Pentecost, when the first Jews were...

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

I don't see any indication that the 1 Peter verses are addressing only Jewish believers. In fact, 1 Peter 2:10 seems to be directly addressing Gentiles..."Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." Same as...

You don't consider believing Jews as Christians? I do. What was Paul?

Scriptures that show that Christs death saved a person while in unbelief !

That makes evangelism and missionary work superfluous. What is the point of telling folks about Jesus if some will be saved without even being aware of Jesus?

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

What I see are similarities. Endure faithfully until the end and you will be saved at the coming of the Lord.

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

Can you point out a few scriptures that make that point? I don't see why you think the Gentile believers won't suffer too. Anyone who won't take the mark of the beast will suffer.

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

They all apply to anyone in Christ. It means, in context with the beginning of Rom 6, that those "immersed" into Christ and into His death and burial by water baptism are partakers of that death. Thereby killing the old man and bringing forth a new creature with our resurrection from Christ's...

Scriptures that show that Christs death saved a person while in unbelief !

That seems like an awfully weird belief. You are offering salvation without people knowing they will be saved. How does one know if they are one of the pre-chosen, so they can quit offending God and neighbor and live a life of goodness and love that reflects their God? Will they have to wait...

OK, but it did cause me to research it out a bit.

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

Rom 6:6-7 is the most direct..."Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.” Also..."But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe...

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

Depending on which route one takes to answer someone else, there is no way to tell. If one just clicks on the "bell" (upper right) you can't tell which "forum" you are in. But if you go through "Home", and then "New posts" route, there is a tiny blue footer that does inform you which "forum" you...

As Elvis would say..."Thankya darlin, thankya very much."

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

He sure does, that is why He gave us freedom from sin. But remember that He hates sinners, as it is written in Psalm 5:5..."The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity."

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

Is "Dispies" a typo for disciples? If you believed the gospel, you would realize that God is one who keeps His word and will destroy anybody who challenges Him. Thankfully, the God of the gospel has provided a way to be free of sinning.

(If he steals) I would say he has sinned and is going to hell if he doesn't repent of all sin and start to worship God.
