I don’t know why that amazes you. That is what deception does. It blinds the eyes so they can’t see. It stops up the ears so they can’t hear. But it stops them up with their own voices, loudly proclaiming they know truth better than God.

I think I prefer the honest, and predictably egotistical, vitriol to the “let’s all get along as long as you agree with me (or my handlers)” style.
