Why Protestant churches dont keep the Sabbath.

Hi Hobie! The Sabbath commandment is for rest. Not worship. Not church services. (Services are actually the opposite of rest). Most Protestants rest on Saturdays. Jarrod

How did His sheep get lost?

This is correct. Actually, Hebrew authors seem to use consistent symbolism of animals for nations, from one end of the Bible to the other (and even in non-canonical books). Sheep are Israel... Dogs are Canaanites... and so forth. Next question - what animal typifies the NT church (if any)?

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

No, but it's anti-apocalyptic. I mean, if you believe the earth is meant to be destroyed, trying to save it is counter-productive at best, and at worst, it's an attempt to thwart God's plan.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

I'm talking about testimony being sufficient evidence that a person exists. Pretty much anyone is qualified to say that a person exists. That's within our usual realm of experience. You're equating that to evidence that a person is literally THE God. What do you suppose qualifies a witness...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Not at all. I am reminded of the small group that questions whether there ever was an actual Jesus that ever walked the earth. They constantly come back to an argument of physical evidence. But, to quote this article... It just so happens that the most printed book in the history of books...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

It's not very hard to prove/disprove, people. All you have to do is take a long flight on a clear day. Is a couple hundred dollars worth it, to settle the issue once and for all?

    The Prophets vs. The Priests

I've come to understand the Old Testament as being written by 2 groups - the prophets and the priests. But there's a problem. They don't agree. The priests tell me about the feasts of Israel, and how to keep the sabbaths and holy days. But the prophets tell me God hates those assemblies. I...

ECT Abraham's Covenant as a Gentile

Reading in Galatians 3. As nearly as I can tell, Paul claims that Abram's covenant is the same covenant that believers now enter (v.7,17). Am I wrong? If it's a separate covenant, is Paul appropriating the blessings of an obsolete covenant for the believer (v.9)? And then is this then a 3rd...

Yeah there is. You never climbed a mountain? Took a plane?

    ECT What is the Gospel?

It seems the intractable debate of this forum is whether there is 1 gospel or 2. Rather than talking around the problem or attacking each other, can we just cut to the chase? What gospel did Jesus preach? What gospel did Paul preach? How are they the same/different?

How well do you know Genesis?

I had trouble sleeping last night, so I used the time to create a pop quiz all about Genesis. There are only 10 questions, but most of them allow multiple selections. https://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=mtm2otgwnwg42d/ Cheatin' is not altogether prohibited, but if you go...
