500,000 plus Americans are homeless

500,000 plus Americans are homeless and sleeping in the cold each night. The homeless rate is expected to continually grow and worsen. The price of housing has become unaffordable to many.

In the mean time the wealthy are getting wealthier, paying less tax then the poor.

Today is a great day for the rich.

the wealthy are . . . paying less tax then the poor.
The wealthy are paying more tax than the poor, as shown by the data:

I see that the tax code has been changed. No one is mentioning the tax breaks the wealthy get. No one is giving an honest answer. Some other day perhaps.

There are the working poor and the lack of equality. This too is a reality of the world we live in. Almost every year we have a person freeze to death in our small town. I simply do not like to see people dying in the streets.

Don't they have enough homeless shelters?

that is strange.

They have so much money to keep criminals in prison and feed but don't have money to save homeless.

I never hear people discuss this problem.

That's because in the current political environment via the GOP, the poor (which includes children, elderly and disabled) are not considered valued members of society.

Oh it was noticed, and I agree with everything you have stated. However, until the swamp is replaced (beginning with the president), this will not change. Since the end of January, everything that has been done was for the sole purpose of harming the poor, disabled and elderly and propping up the wealthy. I am not surprised, are you?

I have lived in the US over 40 years and never heard homeless shelter's shortage was discussed in public by anyone or any group.

It seems easy to fix.

It is not clear.

Is that like animal cages.

They are small little cubicles just big enough to sleep in.
Actually they are for overworked businessmen who have not got time to go home to sleep.

Could this not be adopted for the homeless who really just need a place to sleep?

1Ti 5:8
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

America is not a poor nation. The first priority, should be to provide for one's own nation. Even the poor who are addicts and junkies could be provided with a place to sleep and a bowl of soup with bread.

All the old rock stars one sees dying today at age 70 or 80 were drug addicts, who managed to drop the habit and have a productive old age. Addicts have to be helped to survive till they have their prodigal son repentance moment.
