I was shocked the first time I heard Bob say he didn't believe in a literal fire in Hell.

I still have one main question I'd like to hear him address on this issue. Bob thinks Hell is mainly separation from God but the Bible also says there will be different degrees of punishment in hell (ex. many vrs. few "lashes" (Luke 12:47,48).

So my question is how are people "separated" from God more than other people? Does this imply that some people in Hell will experience a little bit of God's light while other people are in total darkness? This doesn't sound right.

Personally, I think the 'few lashes' are administered in this life, and the 'many lashes' are administered in the next. I could be wrong though.

The Body of Christ is divided on this issue. It's a non-essential.

He does? Colossians tells us, "in Him all things hold together." Christ sustains the place he created--hell. He is present in hell in his wrath & judgement.

People in hell are not seperated from God. He is there.
