Image of God #2

In the Book of Genesis (Jewish Bible or Old Testament) 1:27, it is said, "God created man in His own image" and the way we interpret this can be problematic. Many believers think that this "image" refers to the design of our human body. By reversing this, they can extrapolate that God has two eyes, a nose, a mouth, two arms, a belly button, two legs, and stinky feet, as well as other sometimes-unmentionable body parts. Upon reflection, we find this idea ludicrous. All humor aside, this misconstruance of the image of God has led Christians down the slippery slope of humanizing God.
