Investing God with humanized attributes like love, compassion, empathy, hate, and jealousy -- weakens God; reduces God to something less than omnipotence, and it raises confusing questions such as, "If God is a God of love, why does He allow the abuse of children?" How many times have we heard that one, and had to come up with some stupid answer like "God has a plan for everything"? Confusions (and confusing answers) abound in an atmosphere where we have humanized God.
