Quick update on the Israeli vaccine data
It is bad and getting worse.


So here’s the chart of new serious cases each day:

As you can see, new serious cases have risen 10-fold since the beginning of July - from roughly five a day to about 40 over the last week. The overall number of patients has soared too - from 30 to more than 200.

But how many of those people are vaccinated?

The vast majority.

In an effort to play down that reality, Israel has begun to provide data comparing RATES of serious illness in older people who were not vaccinated and those who were.

But if they are too sick to tolerate the vaccine, they are obviously at much higher risk from Covid than the vaccinate. In other words, ability (and propensity) to be vaccinated is likely a marker for overall health. Researchers know this is true of the influenza vaccine - once they adjust for the fact that older people who get the vaccine are healthier to start than than those who don’t, the advantage the vaccine seems to offer mostly disappears.

So the comparison between vaccinated and unvaccinated isn’t useful.

That's the lie, here's the truth:

"Israel conducted the fastest vaccination campaign against COVID so far. Over 80% of adults are fully vaccinated, which is why only 275 people are hospitalized with COVID in the ENTIRE country of 9 million people. In a country of 9 million people, the high vaccination rate has saved numerous lives. Only a few people are dying per day from COVID. In comparison, Louisiana has a population of 4.6 million with only 37% fully vaccinated. Due to low vaccination rates, there are 1,620 patients hospitalized with COVID and 14-20 people dying per day, which tragically will continue to rise."

Covid. Interesting data buried in the UK reports. The mortality rate from the delta variant for the unvaccinated is more than ten times lower than the mortality rate from the original Covid19. For the unvaccinated, the case fatality rate from the Delta variant is about 1 in 1000, and that includes the infirm and the health-vulnerable populations Covid continues to mostly impact. Absolutely none of that contradicts what I posted about hospitalization/death rates in Israel as compared with the state of Louisiana:

41 years old, zero "comorbidities", zero "pre-existing conditions", perfectly healthy.

I myself had an extended family member die of COVID-19 just a couple of days ago. He was 42 years old, no health problems, unvaccinated, now dead of Covid pneumonia.

Sure, Louisiana has a high comorbidity rate--which is all the more reason for them to get vaccinated! So far, everyone I personally know who's been hospitalized or died of covid has been unvaccinated. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
