It wasn't about the tower

Body part
Something about mankind zooming off into outer space bothers me.
Wonder what GOD thinks about it?
He got a little upset just for man building a high tower.
No telling what He thinks about us leaving exhaust fumes everywhere!

Genesis 11:5-6 KJV
(5) And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
(6) And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Someone either missed the point of the passage or just wanted to use it wrongly.

God was NOT upset because they were building a tower, He was upset because the were disobeying His orders to disperse among and fill the whole planet.

Gen 11:4 (AKJV/PCE)
(11:4) And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top [may reach] unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

Many (if not all, by now) individual state legislatures in the USA seem to have, in the past decade or two, tried to get up to speed with those orders, if the number of storefronts one sees nowadays displaying a green cross is any indicator.

It wasn't about the Tower, it was about a one world government.
God, with his work at Babel, choose war over globalism. There are countless reasons why wars are fought, but only one reason war exist, the language barrier.
There was likely no races at Babel as they didn't separate until after the languages were confused, everyone had the same viruses and gene pool. Separation change that dynamic, bringing many races into being.
Today we live in the undoing of God's work at Babel, with computers and containerships the barriers are gone, even the races are passing away. Going forward there will be fewer wars but many more attempts at globalism, but this time, it is very unlikely God will come to our rescue.

When the incident of the tower of Babel happened, the whole earth was the single continent in existence in those times. Men and animals were to disperse between the limits of such a boundary.

Live for a moment in those years. The earth shows cracks and water starts to fill up the spaces between great masses of lands. This scenario of being divided started the idea of pointing a location of meeting and build a tower. The intention of reaching the sky was to make a name for themselves, an expression that could mean to become famous as powerful, powerful like God.

God caused their language to be confused. With no understanding between the descendants of the sons of Noah, they separated themselves in three big groups according to their families. At the time when Peleg was born, the cracks of the ground increased, and masses of lands moved away one from each other. The moving lands carried humans and animals far away from the rest.

Except Abraham was not remote enough from the descendents of Canaan to have such a crack between them.

I have similar ideas about why God confused the languages.
God's plan was for the people to spread out as the population grew.
The people had a different idea. They wanted to always have contact. This was why they planned for the tower to be very tall. It was their thoughts for it to rise above the trees and rolling hills. It would be seen from far distances if they only climbed a mountain and looked around. I think of how far one can see all around if they go to the top elevations of the Smokey Mountains.

Their reason does smack of the beginning of a one world government by their always keeping touch. Forming a sort of capitol city. To them it sounded like a good idea.

God's plan was for them to spread out. I've wondered why God's plan was better than theirs. The only idea I've thought of is this.

United they would become strong and would advance quickly in ideas and technology. They would destroy the world more quickly. God wanted lots of time to pass before man could destroy the world. God had a family to regrow and for many to choose his kingdom. God knowing what he was planning to do stated this when He first created humanity. Multiply and replenish the world. That is what happened first with Adam and Woman ... they multiplied and then with Noah and his family mankind was replenished. Just saying. I know lots of other people have ideas about what the job of "replenishing" meant for humanity. My thoughts are just another idea.

Our Founding Fathers thought a United Nation of states was a good idea ... and it has worked fairly well due to the sharing of powers within our national government and the rights of individual states ... until these times it seems. We have grown strong and accomplished much.

Is God choosing to divide us at this time ... as a farmer separates the tares from wheat??? We can all see how a united central government can be vulnerable to the invasion of socialism.

Must go ... responsibilities call.

What are you smoking? Your god wanted lots of time to pass before man could destroy the world? Why?
And then we pivot to the "invasion of socialism" Goodness gracious

LOL. I understood what I wrote. I've never taken up smoking of any sort at all. LOL Thank you for reading my post and giving your opinion and speaking to me.

The way I see scripture which affected the Tower event: God created humanity (Adam) in order to grow a perfected family for the kingdom of our Lord ... All things were created by Him and for Him. I actually was in a hurry. Not much time to think or write lately.

I believe it was either the first or second commandment which God gave to humanity ... even before a functioning body was formed for Adam in order to obey it. That commandment was to multiply and reproduce. God's plan was to grow a family for that kingdom. Birthing happens over time; so, time is important to God when it comes to our multiplying and reproducing. God even caused death to come slowing over time instead of instantly so that birthing could continue along with dying and many citizens to God's kingdom would be manifested.

Some of my theories are: When mankind partook of the knowledge of good and evil while having been granted intellect and a free will there was/is the potential for our creating things for good or bad... things which could even destroy the world. Men will use such things one day.

God did not want people to stay together in one place and advance too quickly but rather wanted them to spread around the world... thus allowing reproduction to continue while slowing down the advancement of cultures bent on disobeying Him and ultimately having weapons of mass destruction.

In the Tower of Babel story ... the tower was built so that the growing population would always stay connected as one nation even if they began to spread due to population growth. They even wanted to choose a name for their nation. To solve this act of disobedience God changed their ability to communicate which caused them to form unique groups and to separate themselves out of necessity. They couldn't even finish the tower.

The descendants of Noah were to replenish the population of the earth for Adam's descendants had pretty much been destroyed except for 8
people on the Ark. I predict God knew what they were able to accomplish while speaking the same language and staying together. It was time for them to spread out.

Now, the socialism comments I made came from what I see happening today. Nations have become powerful. They have invented weapons of
mass destruction which are capable of killing 1/3 of the population of the earth. People are demanding the equal redistribution of the earth's wealth among all nations and desire a "one world order." Now, anyone who knows about "the endtimes" understands that this is not God's plan ... so it will happen but last only for awhile until Christ returns to finish out God's will on earth.
(socialism/communism/etc.).
