Jesus said to his disciples:
“As it was in the days of Noah,
so it will be in the days of the Son of Man;
they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage up to the day
that Noah entered the ark,
and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot:
they were eating, drinking, buying,
selling, planting, building;
on the day when Lot left Sodom,
fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all.

And Abraham did the same in his dialogue with HaShem trying to prevent the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah. Coming from 50 and all way down to 10, Abraham asked HaShem if there was at least a Minyan of Ten righteous in Sodom, would the Lord stop and not destroy those cities? And the Lord said, "For ten I would not destroy Sodom & Gomorrah." (Gen. 18:32)

What do you folks think of the Lord's mention of ten righteous in Sodom & Gomorra? There were thousands of children under 13 and children from birth and until 13 are all righteous. The Lord meant a Minyan of ten righteous adult Jews. And Sodom & Gomorrah were destroyed because there was not a Minyan of Jews yet at that time to prevent the destruction of those cities. No wonder Jesus' declaration many years later that salvation comes from the Jews. (John 4:22)

If you notice, he refers to the days of Noah, the flood, and the ark, as real events and not metaphors. The whole earth was flooded and wiped out.

The whole earth could have flooded but not wiped out. Anatomically,
we have all come out of water and, usually the mother is not wiped out.

Oh, now I understand but, even so, I still think that the Flood was not universal but it seemed so to the people in the ark because they could see no land for 150 days. (Gen. 7:24)

Noah didn't write it. Moses wrote what the Holy Spirit had him write. Still blind as a bat after 2000 years.

18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. 20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. 21 And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man. 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died. 23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. 24 And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days.
