So if anyone has a mind to, I'm sure it would be a real and pleasant surprise for Psalmist to run into a lot of appreciation on his CP. Maybe especially from the big cats who have lapped him several times over (including lesser cats like me).

Maybe we should be training our concentration a bit differently.

Well, it's a kindness in any event, but I suppose I've always preferred people whose generosity was born of whatever was going on internally and not dependent on the external. I don't do the best job of modeling that, but I'm making an effort. Ask Tam.

Now Psalmist should be at the top of any list and shame on all of us that he isn't. If there's a better or more generous soul here it's news to me (and I know you know, Angel and it's appreciated, I'm just beating the drum again). :cheers:

i remember people in life that create issues and do things specifically to get reactions. then they thrive on the reactions and the negativity, perhaps hearkening back to the good feelings they had in grade school or junior high of making fun of folks or creating ill will with others. i never had a boss like that though, thank God i have had excellent bosses and co-workers. some gave bonuses in money, others gave us a turkey or a card.

the kind of boss you speak of is a manipulator and control freak - maybe a nice guy who appreciated hard work and good people, but a jerk of a boss. tight, superior attitude likely

i'm purely speculating, never met the guy. as a boss and owner i don't do that, because folks work hard and have bills, children and other expenses and some may need to budget their Christmas etc. even maybe new employees that don't know about the unwritten rule of - 'you better not say anything about a bonus or complain' - that also means somebody is telling the boss (unless a dummy complained straightway); snitching to ensure the person gets no bonus ?

yep sounds like a jerk, but sure - take what i said and imply that i meant he's a jerk for giving Christmas gifts and bonuses

PS - i agree that anyone that DEMANDS a bonus may not get one or deserve one -
