The problem with this guy's response is that it assumes the "redefine marriage" political rhetoric.

Redefining marriage would entail a wholesale change in marriage where homosexual marriages are now deemed legal while heterosexual marriages are now null and void.

This is absurd as there is no such threat to heterosexual marriages ....past, present or future.

Rather, what homosexuals are asking for is inclusion into the current institute of marriage compact. (and rights entitled thereof)

There's nothing special about tax breaks for married couples.

Nothing special at all. Actually, these kind of benefits that come from being married, another being the ability to share an insurance policy, are exactly why saying that marriage is a religious institution is untrue. Social and civil benefits are awarded to people who are married, and denying that ability to homosexuals is unconstitutional on the highest level: denying liberty and equality
