Paul said, "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes, Romans 1:16.
There is no power in Calvinism or Catholicism or any religion. Where does it say that religion is the power of God unto salvation? Religion is just the opposite of faith. It is not faith in a religion plus faith in Christ that saves you. It is faith in Christ and his Gospel that will save you, plus nothing, Ephesians 1:13.
There is great power in the Gospel, simply because it is the Gospel of Jesus Christ that defeated sin, death and the devil and has reconciled a world of lost sinners unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19. Religion does not justify the ungodly, Romans 4:5, nor will religion reconcile you unto God. Only Jesus Christ has the power to justify the ungodly and to reconcile the world unto God.
Religion is a diverson away from Christ and his Gospel. Religion is about you. Your works, Your obedience, Your piety. Religious people are preoccupied with their own spirituality. This is exactly what Satan wants. He wants YOU to think about what YOU can do to please God. This is the crux of religion. This way you will never learn the truth about Christ and his Gospel. The truth is that YOU cannot please God, because YOU is a sinner, Romans 3:23. God does not accept the works or the obedience of sinners. God only accepts the works and the obedience of Jesus Christ. We are accepted only in him.
Jesus, as God's new Adam and our new humanity has victoriously defeated sin, death and the devil, Colossians 2:15. Proof of this is that God has exalted Jesus and has given him a name above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father, Philippians 2:9-11.
God now sees ALL THINGS in his Son Jesus Christ, Colossians 1:20. When Jesus having overcome and defeating the world the flesh and the devil, entered into heaven, we entered into heaven with him, spiritually. Our real lives are now hid with Christ in God, Colossians 3:3. God no longer sees us, all that he can see is his Son Jesus Christ.
