The personality of Jesus

If the gospel accounts of the character of Jesus have any veracity, he doesn't come over as perfect by any means. It doesn't mean he was a bad person, but the same as the rest of us, who have good points and bad points.

Very is little is recorded about Jesus before he became an itinerant preacher, moving from place to place. However the incident when he was twelve, and he ended up in the Temple without telling his parents where he was going, show that he was precocious and not very thoughtful. I hope he got a clip around the ear for the worry he caused them. Maybe they grounded him until he was 30!

Trashing the Temple, because he didn't like the money changers was pure vandalism. If he didn't like what they were doing he should have petitioned the Temple authorities.

Cursing the fig tree was very silly.

Playing the exorcism hocus pocus, and frightening the pigs over the cliff, and not compensating the owner, was very wrong indeed.

Telling people to leave their responsibilities and follow him was irresponsible.

To pretend to be some sort of deity was arrogant, if he had been divine surely it would have been obvious to all, which clearly it wasn't!

Jesus did say some sensible things, but then humans can be wise as well as silly!

How about when he said he was only sent to Israel?
Was that bigoted?
