This Fourth of July, it’s worth pondering the true meaning of patriotism

... Tell me where in the Bible it even mentions "All People Are Created Equal" and have "Inalienable Rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."

You cannot, and you are proud of that lie. Look at the facts.
Who's your bishop? In the Bible it mentions that you have a bishop, if you're an actual Christian; so who's yours? Mine's Cardinal Sean O'Malley.

Where is this "moral constitution" of yours then?
It is your conscience.
The United States Constitution is perfect because it is good----it's the first (and arguably only) good constitution.
If by "good" you mean "able to justify slavery, porn, and abortion as rights"...you are correct.
I don't see any room for fundamental improvement. I'm including the whole Constitution, the amendment process included.
You think things are perfect without God?
I don't.
Again you pit the imaginary perfect against the objectively verified and real good, with a 23-decade track record to boot.
The "imaginary perfect" makes what we have look like a tool of the devil.
Provide this perfect constitution that you're judging our Constitution against.
Do it.
Thankyou for this opportunity...
Article 1... Love God with all your strength, heart and power.
Article 2...Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

Nope. Bishops are mere tools of some Religion Cult. You cannot speak of one thing good they accomplish.

Try to stay on topic.

It is your conscience.
So you're saying the perfect regime is a bunch of representatives arguing about the interpretations of our consciences; what our consciences mean?

We already have that.

And if that's not what you're saying, it just sounds like autocracy, prove me wrong.
If by "good" you mean "able to justify slavery, porn, and abortion as rights"...you are correct.
I mean, while we're working through those things, it protects us all, it enables us to defend the morals that we all do with a supermajority agree on. And it even survives violent confrontations between us to sort out morality which we disagree on. As all good disputes on morality must.
You think things are perfect without God?
I don't.
What does "without God" mean.
The "imaginary perfect" makes what we have look like a tool of the devil.
But it's imaginary.
Thankyou for this opportunity...

Gross. "A new commandment", "love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."

One "article".

Get used to it.
Hall of Fame
...The American polity didn't come into existence in 1776 or 1791. It goes back to the 1600s. We, go back to the 1600s. It took us like 160-170 years to develop our current Constitution. It only took like 75 years before slavery was completely eliminated with the Constitution, something our polity couldn't do in the prior 250 years without it.
I have to admit....You make a good point here. When placed against the standards of the world and in context it's not been shabby performance. We, as a nation, are pretty spoiled.

I guess what we have it isn't as perfect a regime as you really want either.
Will you admit that the "conscience" has nothing to do with our government?
And if that's not what you're saying, it just sounds like autocracy, prove me wrong.
That is exactly what it is, and the Autocrat is God.
I mean, while we're working through those things, it protects us all, it enables us to defend the morals that we all do with a supermajority agree on. And it even survives violent confrontations between us to sort out morality which we disagree on. As all good disputes on morality must.
I see no morals, just "he who has the most money makes the rules".
What does "without God" mean.
Look around you and see it.
But it's imaginary.
So far, but the day is coming when all will bow to the King.
Gross. "A new commandment", "love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."
One "article".
What does twelve dozen have to do with anything?
And why are you so set against loving one another?

Get a grip Mother Theresa...You don't know nearly enough about me to make such comments. 😂
If you are for killings, you are a murderer.
Just as Jesus said those who look on a woman to lust after her have already committed sin, so too have those who look on a man to kill him.
M Theresa is a whole other thread.
