ThThurs: The Exodus Code Pt. 15

* Exodus Code: On the day Moses delivered the Ten Commandments about three thousand souls died (Exodus 32:28). And on the day that God gave the Holy Spirit, about three thousand souls were saved (Acts 2:41). Explaining that contrast, Paul wrote that the law kills but the Spirit gives life (2 Cor. 3:6,7,17). That Law of the Ten Commandments is the basis of an entire criminal code revealed in Exodus. But it doesn't end there. Contained within the document that convicts the world, Salvation is found. Join Bob for an insightful study that considers the deep meaning of the Exodus Code. Discover the unique style of Bob Enyart, and enjoy all of his teaching tapes. Do you want comments from posters about the time of Moses and the symbolic significance of what he and Aaron displayed as they stood upon the ROCK of Horeb when he spoke to the children of Israel in mass... or about The LORD meeting Moses on the mountain top?

Or

Is this post just intended to remind TOL followers of opportunities available for personal study about the time of the 10 commandments ... etc.?

There is no restriction on the kind of posts you make as long as they are not mean spirited. I am just posted the show on the forum for you to review. I am actually no expert on Open Theism. I let the others more proficient on this subject answer any questions you have on it.

I am no expert... I mere write on what I think I see in scripture ... I am also not mean spirited. I have read other threads where people are down right hateful to each other. Down grading people and such. Very sad in deed. I can only think of one time I pointed out a possible problem here on TOL. But I a glad to be back on line with TOL. I got the message. I must be sweet little me ... which I am.

I love the era of Moses at Mt. Horeb. I think I have noticed a detail that most have not. In fact, I'm figuring many experts may have interpreted things incorrectly. Of course, isn't that what we do on TOL? Tell what we see. See what others think. Perhaps ... come to some sort of consensus.

I think I know why Aaron had to die before Israel entered the Promise Land. Most think it had to do with the Golden Calf that came out of the fire... when a lot of others were killed for worshiping it. I think there was a bigger reason and it has to do with Moses and the ROCK at Horeb. I think it may have had to do with why John the Baptist died as well and why he asked a disciple this question, "Is he the one or is there another?"

I think the ROCK at Horeb was a very prophetic place and dealt with the era of the Son of God/son of man and his prophet.

Very busy today. No time to write although I wish I could. Be back... maybe tonight.

In Genesis it was stated that Moses was like God to Pharoah and Aaron was like his prophet. Keeping this in mind let's skip to Mt Horeb.

The first time Moses struck the ROCK at Horeb he stood upon it and the Lord was near by. Since Jesus is The ROCK of our salvation and was to be struck to provide the water/spirit of salvation then what Moses displayed was the correct symbolism of the work of the Messiah when he came.

However, at the second event Moses was told to only speak to the ROCK. (I think the Lord was near by again but would have to re-check that detail.) Anyway, Moses and Aaron were there and instead of just speaking to the ROCK he said, "Must we provide the water/the spirit of salvation?" The WE stood for himself as God and Aaron as his prophet must suffer and die.

Moses displayed publicly and symbolically that he and Aaron would die.

Moses was sentenced to die before he reached the Promise land ... and Aaron was also sentenced to die... but his death did not come because of the Golden Calf event. The people wanted an idol but Aaron was reluctant but when he gave in the idol was to be used to worship The LORD while Moses was away from the people so long. We all know that the LORD God did not want any idol fashioned in heaven or on earth to represent him. You see, our God is alive ...not lifeless things shaped of wood, silver, gold or stone. He was not a created creature. He also did not want his image or any image representing him to be mocked in public by non-believers. NO IDOLS of him or any make believe gods other than him. One of The 10.

So, The LORD loved Moses as a friend and spoke with him face to face ... so He chose to carry out the symbolism Moses had represented. Moses had to die. Aaron had to die. Jesus came to die and John had to die.

I think John had an idea of the prophetic symbolism of Moses's day and it prompted him to have a disciple to ask Jesus this question: Are you the ONE or is there another? John's question does not make sense that he is asking if Jesus is The Messiah, because John testified of who he was as God, The WORD of God, that Light, and the one come to save mankind. John knew this without a doubt. But he might very well not been sure if he WAS THE PROPHET to die like Aaron.

Just what I think I have seen. If someone could discuss scripture with me which shows I may be wrong, please do.
