On what Biblical grounds would you "HANG HIM"?HANG HIM.

We aren't (Judg 21:25). That's the problem (Hos 4:6)."...[Y]ou Americans are a bit hung up on law."
If you'd like a civil society (Eccl 10:2, Jn 10:10). :dizzy: Where do you live? Somewhere in Europe? You're all dead already. :dead: Will you even loose a one in the rapture? :rapture: We're close behind you."Does everything have to be either legal or illegal?"
Laws come from God (Ge 2:16). The law is for the lawless (1 Ti 1:9). The law is an expression of God's will (Rom. 7:2–9). :straight:"Can't some things just be moral or immoral?"
Like fer sure (Ro 13:4)."It's like you feel that people should be punished for what they do wrong..."
The individual can claim innocence all day long (Mt 27:24)--"...just so long as it's the state doing the punishing and the individual can thus wash his or her hands."
Adultery is a crime (Lev. 20:10–12)....[M]aybe adultery should be a crime -
The bible is not the 'end all' for the creation of a modern, comprehensive legal code.
The first wife should be put in jail for trying to impose her beliefs about marriage on others.
What do you think should happen here?
Do you think bigamy should be prosecuted?

Is this a penalty found in the Bible? Or is this what seems right in your own eyes?Simple ... the bigamist should lose all of the marital assets and the wife should receive sole physical custody IF their are any children involved.

I did not argue for that. I merely asked about the foundations for your suggestions.Do you think it's okay for a person to DECEIVE their spouse by taking another spouse?

Okay, so you want to do what is right in your own eyes.Proper upbringing. Common sense. Empathy.

I think you might be advocating a little overly punitive, for what is essentially a licensing issue at least as far as the state is concerned.
If deceptive people cannot hold parental rights, I'm not sure there are enough people to raise these kids.

The charge is bigamy. That's what I was addressing. How about him trying also to sell the family home out from under his wife and kids?
Think thats just a licensing issue?

It's fraud against the state. They do not care about what a scoundrel he is.Which is fraud, which he shows a pattern of by also trying to defraud his real wife and kids of their home as well.

Its fraud against his wife and kids too.
They will have to settle that in civil court, not a criminal one.Its fraud against his wife and kids too.
