Discriminating against an employee for being gay or transgender violates the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Supreme Court ruled Monday in a 6–3 decision.
It is only a matter of time until a ruling is made that discriminating against an employee for being a pedophile violates the Civil Rights Act.

You can already see the preparation and movement in that direction, just like you could see the preparation for LGBTQ acceptance decades ago.

I'm sure this has been noted by others how the gays are using God's sign to Noah that he will not destroy the world again by flood, as the symbol of their movement. What the deeper meanings are there.

[Trump apppointed] Justice Neil Gorsuch's majority decision offers a textualist argument for the ruling.

There are a lot of Trump supporters here at TOL. You won't be popular with words like that.

Petition demands statue of poet Walt Whitman be removed from Rutgers University-Camden

July 23, 2020

A statue of Walt Whitman, one of America’s most famous and influential poets, has come under fire at Rutgers University-Camden, where a petition demands his statue be removed.

The statue, featured prominently in the center of campus, pays homage to the author of the seminal work “Leaves of Grass,” as the poet lived in Camden upon his death in 1892 at age 72.

But the artist, sometimes called the “Bard of Democracy” whose poetry praised the American experiment, also held racist notions about African Americans, and for that some want the statue removed.

Evidently the fact that Walt Whitman was a homosexual who loved having sex with teenage boys (i.e. a pederast) didn't keep various instittuions of supposed higher learning from making a statue of him.
In any event, I hope that they do take down the statue of the pederast.

Another reason why rulers are to enforce God's law is that God's law is a schoolmaster to drive men to Christ (Gal. 3:24). A lawfully wielded sword of a godly ruler strikes fear in the hearts of the ungodly, a feet which may become the fear of the Lord, and thus the beginning of wisdom. Without godly rulers enforcing God's law, the Church in its fullest sense, the body of Christ, the beliefs and actions of believers, loses one of its most powerful teaching ministries. For if Christian rulers enforce ungodly laws they cannot teach men to fear that which is evil, cannot pastor men to do that which is good, cannot protect the good against the evil, and cannot therefore, promote the fear of God in men. Ungodly laws are a schoolmaster, but not a schoolmaster to drive men to Christ.

Yeah, I've heard that before. My usual response is that the lack of floodwaters just means the fire will be impossible to extinguish. :cautious:

I'm not sure but from what I'm hearing it's to shoot unarmed women crawling through broken windows in public buildings.
Yes, protecting public servants from anarchists in the United States Capitol Building is one of the roles of civil government. As a libertarian, what do you believe other roles of civil government are?

Abortion, like homosexuality, comes from liberatarian ideology, i.e. "It's MY body and I can do with it as I please!". What a selfish ideology and political movement libertarianism is.

Actually, abortion is a flagrant violation of the non-aggression policy which the great majority of "libertarians" adhere to.
Nice try though. :sneaky:

Now that we've established that you're a libertarian, which for some strange reason most won't admit to here on TOL, let's look at libertarian ideology and the political movement that legislates that ideology.

1.5 Abortion

Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.

So you're one of those statists that wants government in the bedrooms of people?

😝 I'm not a libertarian (particularly not a ("capital L) type....Government, as our own founders have demonstrated, cannot be limited. It will slip its bonds and strive for god status whenever it is able. Corrupt humans will always pervert it's Godly intent.

Once upon a time I flirted with lower case "L" libertarianism but I have learned it is a pipe dream...Much like communism.

Statists are fools who who consider themselves to be less corruptible than the rest of humanity. They have no interest in dispensing justice or mercy...They merely wish to control and oppress others.
The constant drive to usurp OUR LORD.
But I don't have to point that out to you do I? 🤭

Aren't libertarians the most disgusting scum to slitttttther the face of the earth "Tom"? And Ron Paul, what a nutcase!

(particularly not a ("capital L) type...

You don't have to pay the 25 cent membership fee to the Libetarian Party to embrace their ideology. The Libertarian Party (until Donald Trump brought libertarianism to the Republican Party) is responsible for legislating libertarian ideology.

That's why the Bible gives instructions on what kind of men to elect to public office:

"But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens."
Exodus 18:21

BTW, what is governments' role per God as seen in Holy Scripture? I always thought that Romans 13 was a pretty good description.

Once upon a time I flirted with lower case "L" libertarianism but I have learned it is a pipe dream...Much like communism.
How so? Libertarian ideology pretty much runs this country, with homosexuality, abortion, and pornography being legal. And how about the rampant use of recreational drugs, that's based on libertarianism.

Boy "Tom", for not being a libertarian, you sure do know a lot of their terms. NAP/Non Aggression Principle and Statist, terms that are used regularly amongst libetarians. I guess you're just a casual observer who just happend to run across those terms one day and they just randomly stuck in your mind huh?

Regarding the word "Statist", which I've been called quite a bit for my stance on the criminalization of homosexuality, here's the definition:
"an advocate of a political system in which the state has substantial centralized control over social and economic affairs."

To my knowledge I've never advocated "centralized control over social affairs", that's something that respective States should decide and I've never believed that economic affairs should be controlled by government.

The constant drive to usurp OUR LORD.

Actually according to the article that I've been posting for the past few pages, that's the role of civil government, to do what right in the eyes of God.

He'd get more respect probably if he didn't always wear those cheap shoes.

Ohhhh....Is that who did it? I didn't know Donny was a "libertarian". :ROFLMAO:

That's why the Bible gives instructions on what kind of men to elect to public office:
Hmmmm When do you suppose that we stopped doing that because TBH....Not seein' a whole lotta "godly" in American Governmental History. Oh, I see lip service being paid but as per the norm; a form of, while denying the power thereof.

I always thought that Romans 13 was a pretty good description.
It is....Sad that the statists twist it into a form of worship. 😐

Isn't recreational drug use illegal though?...I mean besides alcohol and a few corners of Marijuana Legislation

A short time ago I read an article about a police training facility which had been abandoned some time ago. It had been sold to a company which was planning on using it for a Marijuana Grow Operation (licensed by your beloved "state" and everything). Oh the tears did flow....Unable to accept that the war on drugs was over....And drugs won. Authoritarian types fumed and gnashed their teeth.

The way I saw it it wasn't a war on drugs as much as it was a tool to control. I mean, if it really was...Why is Hunter running around loose?

Once again...I don't think these people are as interested in Godliness as they are keeping the masses under control and having an excuse to kick in doors.

But I do thank you for your "analysis" 🤭 Regarding the source of such ideologies.

Oh, I'm pretty sure that I made it clear that it was something I dabbled in the past....But, even if I didn't I tend to have an aversion to ignorance in general. Unfortunately that's something that seems to be getting rarer and rarer. I blame FaceBook. 😐

This is preferable to me over the current state of affairs. I had no idea that you were so... "Liberal" on such matters. :sneaky:

Oh, I know you are dying for me to read it....And I intend to. But I don't think that I will get to it today.
I'll try to dig into it sometime this weekend. ;)

How can anyone respect people who promote sexual perversion and other destructive behaviors like Ron Paul and his fellow libertarians do? I can't blame you for not wanting to identify with them "Tom".

Yeah, Libertarian leaders like Loony Lew Rockwell and Walter 'NAMBLA' Block actually endorsed Donald Trump's Presidency and many libertarians followed. I see that a lot of libertarians are homosexual, so Trump's support of homosexuality had to have a lot to do with their support.

With Cheap Grace Theology running amuck, today's so-called Christians think that they can vote for evil and still be given God's grace.

What's not to love about an institution that was created by God for the purpose of doing good in His eyes, i.e. one of the 3 institutions ordained by God for the governance of man? Just because liberals and libertarians have corrupted civil government, doesn't mean that it's an inherently evil institution.

Thanks to libertarianism, hardcore recreatonal drug use has pretty much been decriminalized, at least in big cities. Shooting up on a bench on a public sidewalk is pretty common in cities. And how about homosexuality, libertarians/liberals even have children embracing sexual perverson (them homosexuals, they just love their little boys).

Boy "Tom" if you hadn't told me that you weren't a libertarian, I'd think that you are based on your pro drug stance alone.

LOL..,.it's ok "Tom", I've had fun messing with one of TOL's many "But I'm not a libertarian!" libertarians. My posts aren't for you, they're for those who seek the truth.

Moving on....
