So I have been told... According to what I have been able to gather mine identify as cuddle- bugs...As long as the wife and I appreciate your company, that is. :)
Told by who? Ignoramuses? I've owned the breed and they're no more an "assault canine" than any other breed of dog.

You don't have to convince me. :)

 Actually, I stand corrected...The Brits are using the "It's not a "Pit Bull Terrier" it's a Staffordshire Terrier" line. I use that with annoying old ladies who are worried their vicious little hyper-aggressive rat-dog would be harmed by my "assault canines".

I guess as long as there are no incidents it's regarded as a Staffordshire...? :p

I have to admit that I gotta give them kudos for making a loophole...Albeit a weaselly one. Perhaps they were shamed by the concept of banning a breed as British as Eel Pie and mash.

Well, I don't know which "Brits" you've been reading but your pic resembles a fully fledged Staffordshire Bull Terrier and that is the correct name of the breed. I should know, I was brought up with them when I was born, throughout childhood and beyond and we generally refer to them as "Staffys" at least where I'm at. "Pit Bulls" are cross breeds usually involving the Staffordshire bull terrier and there's a plethora of ignorance regarding them also. They're no more prone to aggressive behaviour than any other breed of dog and cases where there have been attacks are usually down to owner irresponsibility and abuse of the animal. There's no 'loopholes' involved here Tom, fact, nor is there any danger of the 'staffy' being banned as a breed or cross breeds even. Where do you get your info from?

:D Ohhhh you have corrected me again. Now I see clearly!

If you have the money to have breeder papers then your dog is a "Staffy" and therefore legal...If not then a Pit Bull and illegal?

Correct?

Are stray Staffy's detained and eventually gassed if they cannot show their papers?...

The dog you have is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. It clearly isn't a cross breed or "Pit Bull". Does that bother you? Cross breeds are not illegal including bull terriers in the mix but what you have is fully fledged 'Staffy'.

Latest update: At least 19 children are now confirmed dead. Grades 2-4. Heartbroken for those little children, and for the families realizing their worst fear.
There were too many cowards, 'experts', government-trained, and government-controlled law officers there who were not allowed to simply immediately go into the classroom and deal with the shooter like should have been done.

:) Well...That picture I posted is not my dog (In full disclosure is just a GIF) but you are correct about my dog(s)...One of them though....Our oldest male has no papers so he would have to stand at a tribunal to determine if there's genetic corruption.

:cautious: Didn't the Nazi's do stuff like that?

...But I digress. Why then the silly "Ban on Pitbulls" in the UK since we are so progressive and clear sighted on this matter? :)

;) I'll make a deal with you...I won't even bring up how my daughter's Dogo Argentino is also banned also over there.

Oh, I know I'm correct on the former, I know a staffy when I see one. :)

I agree with some of your latter and completely disagree with some of these laws as covered in the link below. There are exemptions as outlined but there should be more of an emphasis on owner responsibility than any breed of dog frankly.

Not sure what you're getting at with that.
There are states that require a permit to carry a gun in public. For those that do, they divide between a policy of "shall issue" or "may issue" the permit (upon application). The Supreme Court basically said "may issue" is un-Constitutional.

This actually affects my state of Massachusetts; we're one of the few with a "may issue" permitting policy.

Well, my contention is that nobody should be issued with or allowed to own a gun until stringent background checks have been carried out to ascertain whether they're fit to have one.

There are multiple states that don't require a permit to carry guns in public. But everybody in every state who is trying to buy a brand new gun (only lawful from a federal firearms licensee) must submit to the FBI back ground check.
