Obama's "deportations" weren't really deportations. They redefined the word during his administration to include anyone who was turned away at the border. Deportations of people who were already in the interior of the country dropped by a large margin during Obama's administration but he needed a way of saying that he was strong on the border because of the politics at the time so they altered what got included in the number.

Sure! It was certainly portrayed in the press as if they were real deportations and no judges were freaking out about it.
