I remember an assessment stating that a large number of college students could not answer a question asking ‘name two states that border Maryland. I think it was given in western states. I think we somehow failed to teach basic geography. Most failed to have the correct answer where the US capital was before Washington DC, I guess we failed to teach basic American history.

I just don’t get it, in seventh grade I could name all the countries in south America and draw them out in a map, so could most other students.

I think the map bit is right. I remember reading recently that a fifth of Americans couldn't find our country on a world map...:sigh:

Funny thing, JWS is upset with me for leaving a profile page message that quoted him being less than gracious to another member...condescending even. I set it out as a more personal response to his public posturing regarding how he conducts himself absent attack...silly fellow. He sniffed and asked me to keep my "attacks" public...I'll leave him be, but I'm still chuckling over the reposting of his own words constituting an attack on his character.

Oh, thanks TH, Revelation is out to be a real pain,, I fear. I hope he wises up and just leave me alone. That is what I do when I am faced with a member I cannot stand, just ignore them; it is the best policy for me and all the members who just are not interested in petty bickering. I see your "Doctor" and raise you JWS, who not only doesn't understand Aquinas (loudly) but can't be bothered to attempt it WHILE making commentary on the uncaused cause....and he has a few catch phrases he throws into the mix when he's out of his depth and a nervous "lol" tic that he utilizes in lieu of actually demonstrating a grasp of something he'll inevitably mischaracterize in the same breath....It's enough to make me think I should have stayed in the "And the Rest" section.

I have something to say about this character who goes by the handle “Doctor” I think he is a big phoney and full of baloney. He calls me a bully, well that is immature, had I known he was a child, I would have been nicer, ok, that is why I think it would be much better to not have the kids around. Then, it is not my policy decision. Now I sent him a little peace treaty and he comes back with his bragging about having a [sic] Phd in business administration, a degree useless unless you teach business. Then on and on with the same old hooey.

Now, I am not saying you should agree with me, but I do not trust a person who makes such educational claims, yet cannot spell Presbyterian, or doctorate! He stated, “My Dr. is from Fl. Presberterian which is now Eckerd College in St. Pete Fl.” I will not make any waves beyond this, he will be on ignore as he is an incorrigible phoney in my book.

Yes, she gets to thinking that I am against her when AMR and I are friends and share some ideas. I think Nang gets up in her less than creative retorts and feeling beat up a bit, gets cranky. No problem, your post was great as many are and your late show. I had some reps on the one word, but I was mad about Nang for being such a little twit. OK, I will just leave her alone, poor girl.

Odd that Nang neg rep'd you given who she had to defend in part...but I think sometimes people with an ideology that is frequently attacked fall into the "my country right or wrong" error. I wouldn't take it personally and I compensated for the mistake and then some. She's not bad people--just a little sensitive on point, perhaps.

One thing I will not abide by is someone handing a line of baloney. I can deal with those deceived, ignorance and fools, but handing me a line of baloney dressed up no matter how is not something I can abide. Heck, I know I am getting on and really, monkeying is a pain.


I was arguing with my cousin, who said I had my first TV in 1959, when I went off to college, now that does not make sense. I’m sure I graduated in 1959, did I not, or was it 58? I can’t remember, so, I will have to look for my HS year book. I do know I bought my first TV the same year my uncle gave me a 1955 dark blue Pontiac and I was away at college, so that had to be about 1960, or am I going nuts?

I think if one uses the handle 'doctor' one is trying to impress, that I am not and no, I do not think you have a doctorate. I graduated for University of Tennessee with a doctorate in psychology in 1968. Besides I went back to graduate school in criminology and criminal justice administration and no, I will not tell you how much further I went through graduate school there. I was a criminal jussive administrator in Texas after working as a psychologist.

My dear lady, how presumusious of you to make such a statement. I have read your posts and you appear to be trying to be a cyber bully. I am not impressed. The fact concerning my handle is very simple and all you had to do was ask nicely. My education is through Presperterian University
(St Pete), Eckerd College (Clearwater) and my post graduate studies were done through Liberty University in Business Administration. I retired in 2000 after 30 years working in management for CVS. I am very proud of what I have been able to do in life and the success I have had through the blessings of God. My father was a disabaled war veteran, and mother quit school in the 6th grade to help pay the bills. I went to work at age 14 and have done so ever since. But, a couple of questions...how do you know that I do not have a Doctorite and where is your degree from?
Where did you do your post graduate studies and what was your thesis?
And yes you can call me patient because there was a time when I didnt have any patients with smart *** statements like yours.

I make no secret that I put faith and truth first because the love born of faith and truth is the highest love. For me, the Christian perspective and faith in Jesus Christ leads to the highest and fullest contentment. It make one strong when things are not going well, we always have God on our side and what more can one ask?
