    On the omniscience of God

Then the government can't fire missiles at enemy aircraft. Why not?

    On the omniscience of God

Ok. But God wouldn't dispense judgment for pedophilia on those not guilty of it. Like the airplane in the example. It belongs to someone outside the government that is allowing pedophiles to use it. Which means they have His authority in those things designated to them. So if a government is...

Does Open Theism make us view eschatology differently?

Murder won't be possible? Are you saying lust won't be possible? Just looking for clarification. Edit to add: Maybe you're saying that the mere lust or hate that are the beginnings of adultery and murder will be dealt with by the rod of iron?

    On the omniscience of God

I don't know what to make of that. Of course the vengeance of God belongs to God. I think you've admitted my point much more than I.

Do you think murder will be punishable by death penalty?

    On the omniscience of God

Yes, but whose? If the government is able to claim the property of criminals because it is illicitly obtained in the first place, then the government official can destroy such property. I'm not claiming that. Which goes back to an earlier question. Does God have moral authority to kill in...

Does Open Theism make us view eschatology differently?

Why would the camp of the saints be so small compared to the people of the nations that Satan stirs up against them, if Christ, the perfect king, rules with a rod of iron through his people Israel for 1000 years? And during that 1000 years, I would assume (I could be wrong), that the now...

Does Open Theism make us view eschatology differently?

Right, that's what I'm talking about. Then this happens: Revelation 20:7-9 KJV — And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to...

Does Open Theism make us view eschatology differently?

That's fine, but can you suggest how the people of Israel, who are the camp of the saints, as you are saying, I think, who have been ruling over the world for a thousand years with Jesus at their head, physically sitting on David's throne, can be so completely isolated from a world that quickly...

Can't a force for good hijack a plane belonging to the force for evil?

    On the omniscience of God

Once you call him a vigilante, you define him as being outside of the proper authority. But a "hijacker" who hijacks a plane being flown by a criminal and full of criminals, could be a government operative who is vested by the state to commandeer the plane and kill the criminals.

    On the omniscience of God

If he's part of the government, then isn't it within his authority, assuming it's the right part of the government?

Does Open Theism make us view eschatology differently?

It seems like the camp of the saints is much smaller than the nation's that surround it. Revelation 20:8-9 KJV — And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea...

But the "being on hold" makes the OT interpretations even more important to understand, since the people now to be involved weren't in existence when the prophecy was made.

Does Open Theism make us view eschatology differently?

Yes, I agree. If God is "setting up", that's one particular way He directs the end He's looking for. But when the false prophet and the antichrist are thrown into the lake of fire, it is not because God planned for a particular person to be born that could never repent, right? That's the part of...

    On the omniscience of God

Romans 13:4 KJV — For he (the ruler or government) is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he (the ruler or government) is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

The bible was explicit about Nineveh being destroyed in 40 days, too.

    On the omniscience of God

If both the plane and the building were full of pedophiles, and only pedophiles, and the hijacker were a government employee fighting to bring justice for minors who had been raped and murdered, would it wrong.
