The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

Yes, as it was Paul's letter that I cited. Peter already knew, thanks to the vision he received before visiting Cornelius. But don't overlook that He also "came to" the Syrophoenician woman and the Roman centurion. Or that one can branch off of the other. Why? Because I consider believing...

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

Jesus suffered and died so the Gentiles and the Jews could be one in Him. Eph 2:13-4..."But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both, (Gentile and Jew), one, and hath broken down the middle wall of...

    Can God lie?

While understanding "hears you" could indeed mean "repent to you", the situations in Matt and Luke differ because in Matt repentance is not mentioned. That allows me a door to forgive without repentance of the offender. Those from far in my past, some whom are dead, cannot repent to me. Am I to...

    Can God lie?

No. I don't see that in Matt 18? I see no repentance mentioned in Matt 18. Luke 17 and Matt 18 were conducted in differing environments, so different nuances may emerge dependent on the conditions. Do you feel that you cannot forgive without hearing how sorry the offender was? It was free...

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

What do you think Peter said? "And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the...

    Can God lie?

Sure...Matt 18:21-22..."Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven." Jesus doesn't mention repentance in Matt. You could...

    Can God lie?

Maybe because the forgiveness profits the forgiver as much as it does the forgiven. Jesus did not mention repentance in Matt 18:21-22. Jesus, in Luke 17:34, does mention "if he repents-forgive": but He didn't say not to forgive if he does not repent. Suppose, for a second, that the sinner walks...

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

Good morning, Nick. Peter is not confused. As he is addressing Jews, the "we" is the Jews and "they" are the Gentiles. That being the case, it is a new revelation in the sense of growth in grace and knowledge. Both are saved the same way. Hearing, believing, and acting on their faith.

    Can God lie?

Forgive him anyway. If someone sins against you but, but you have moved a thousand miles away, how can he ask for your forgiveness? How can you tell he did not repent? Forgiveness is way better than carrying around a grudge and hate in your heart.

Thanks, but I already have been baptized into Christ, and into His body the church. Thanks be to God for making one church out of both Jew and Gentile. All of us "in Christ", and partaking of the mercy, love, and grace of God.

    Can God lie?

God doesn't use a sliding scale. Everything is black or white. The sins that get a death penalty, besides blasphemy of the Holy Ghost, are the sins never "turned from". So in your dispensation you don't have to forgive any more? How does that work its way into the Lord's prayer? "Forgive us out...

    Can God lie?

A sinner is a sinner, and if we are to be forgiven we must forgive. I'm not going to make a Pharisee's list of which sins I will not forgive.

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

If there was such a thing as an early release from the sufferings of the last days, ( some call it a rapture ), then nobody will refuse the mark. The one church founded on the fact that Jesus was the Son of God. Interesting. Division without division. LOL Yes, of course. Huh? What does that...

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

Do you suppose anybody will refuse to take the mark of the beast? If you say "yes", then the church is still on earth.

    Can God lie?

God does not lie. Neither should we. It is written..."Be ye holy for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:16)

    Can God lie?

An eye for an eye: a tooth for a tooth: and a life for a life are of the past, and replaced by love your enemies and forgive if you want to be forgiven, and and do good to those that hurt you. Paul writes..."So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such...

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

I don't think catholics reject anything about Paul. (Their problem is their rejection of God.) In my boyhood town in S. Illinois, the catholic church was named "St Peter and Paul".
