Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

Is that the "truth" Jesus said could free us from committing sin? He said..."And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Verily...

He never used that simile, but Jesus did.

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

Yes I see it, (but most of Rom 7 is Paul's narrative of his failures to live the Law before his conversion.) Fortunately for the reborn, repentant, believers, God's law is now written on our hearts. With our new nature, coveting is not an issue. Coveting was one of the now dead "old man's"...

Jesus made an analogy, and you don't see its intent. "Follow Me, The Leader!"

It would be, if the bible told us to ride bikes to go to a certain place.

It is also unbiblical. That is why it isn't done by lovers of God's word.

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

Good to read, welcome to the portion of the world that actually obeys God. Like you, it is Christ in me who does the good things and doesn't do the evil things. Circumcision and dietary rules were just examples of the Law that I am crucified to. Tithing, sabbath keeping, feast days, and a list...

when did Peter use the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven ?

By that remark, you cause me to think you don't believe that Jesus isn't the head of your sect. Ah, that is where we differ. God doesn't care about flags. His people do His will, regardless of location. That is the peculiarity, we do His will. So is everyone who has been baptized into Christ...

Paul wasn't a bishop. He was an apostle, prophet, and evangelist. Qualifications for those don't include showing you can run a household, with kids, before being allowed to run a church full of diverse folks. Running a family before running a church is a scriptural requirement for being a bishop.

I don't think your qualifications for being a bishop agree with the bible's. It is written..."A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but...

when did Peter use the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven ?

Interesting take on that. I always considered Jesus Christ as the Head of both the Jewish and Gentile believing church. Not just the Israelis, thanks be to God, but all believers. Peculiar in that you want no part of being God's peculiar people. I'm glad the Gentiles were also given the...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

I find that notion hard to grasp, as I am dead to the Law, just as Paul wrote in Rom 7:4-6..."Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto...

I'm not lying, and you don't know enough to keep from sinning, it seems. If that weren't so sad... Every sin a man does, he will be held accountable for, and what will happen to the sinners and unbelievers? Judgement will begin at the house of God, and as Peter said..."For the time is come that...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

I guess we are writing about different manifestations of the kingdom. You seem to be looking physically for thrones and orbs, while I am looing spiritually at what is in the heart. It is written..."And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them...

Has what you understand allowed you to live without sinning? That which I understand has.
