Do you really think there is a difference between trespasses and sins? David lost his son, and his kingdom was taken away from him. Punishment enough, I'ld say.

While I see the differences between the two, as accusing Jesus and the works He did of being of the devil is unforgivable while all other sins can be forgiven, what I failed to see is a difference between the "all other" sins, in regard to presumptuous and ignorance. As there are no sins of...

    Doctrine of Unconditional Election

How does a man know he has been "elected"?

    Limited atonement !

Then Christ is to be judged for the sins of those He chose not to save...right? I mean, how can a man be found guilty of any sin he did when if he had been in Christ he wouldn't have committed? God's atonement is limited to those who will receive it, with repentance from sin and adherence to...

Those two examples look like the same thing to me. All disobedience to God will be punished. Aren't you grateful to God for allowing us to be dead to sin in the NT? I sure am.

    "Christian", in name only.

    Limited atonement !

You seem to differentiate those who accept our Lord's loving sacrifice from those who don't and call it limited atonement. The atonement is for everybody, but not all are willing to partake. That isn't "limited", it is "refused-atonement".

I use John's description from 1 John 5:17..."All unrighteousness is sin: " I can't equate "immoral" with "unintentional". If one doesn't know something is a sin while doing it, how can it be immoral? I am glad we do agree that the blood of Christ can make us perfect.(y)

The "contention" is not only off base, it is moot. Jesus didn't shed His blood for something that is not a sin.

I can't corelate that with James 1:14;15? "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." If there was no temptation to sin, nor lust or enticement, there is...

    Limited atonement !

Pride in God, perhaps. And the righteousness is of Him. As it is written..."But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:" (Rom...

    Limited atonement !

Thank God that some conquer their old nature by their fear of God.

Can you give me an example of an unintentional sin?

    Limited atonement !

I once had that carnal mind, but don't anymore...thanks be to God. I thank God for the death and burial of my old man, and for making it possible for me to be raised with Christ to walk in newness of life. (Rom 6:3-7)

    Limited atonement !

Rom 8:7 says a "carnal mind", not man himself. Rom 8:5 says..."For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit." Some men are "after the Spirit" instead of after the flesh. Thanks be to God !

    Limited atonement !

At the last day's judgement, everyone will know their atonement had always been available to them.

    Limited atonement !

I don't see it that way at all. I couldn't walk in newness of life until I had, of my own free will, repented of sin and been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sin. (Rom 6:3-7) That "newness of life" required some steps by me first. God didn't force me to believe, or...

    Limited atonement !

I agree. The atonement is out there to be partaken of. Some are just not interested in profiting from the Lord's largess.

I don't see "many" as a contradiction to "all". Certainly "all" are "many".

Some "did it". Enoch, Joshua, Noah, and Caleb come to mind. But as a whole, folks preferred to walk after the flesh instead of after God. Our merciful and loving God gave them freedom to decide for themselves. It depends who my boss is. If it is God, I say..."Can I start yesterday?" Wouldn't you?
