    Paul's gospel started late....

    1) This is regular dispensationalism. Mid Acts disagrees, to a point. While certainly there are elements to differences in dispensationalism that tie together, Mid Acts separates. 2) Genesis 3 is absolutely a promise of Jesus and is the same in Mid Acts as far as the good news(s)...

    Paul's gospel started late....

Yes, just Israel 'and' gentiles who converted, at this venture. It was only through the Abrahamic Covenant that 'all nations would be blessed.' At the time, that meant conversion. Look how your mind works with the presupposition: You are stuck with a go-between authority. We are not at...

    The Joys of Catholicism

I have a N.T. all by itself. Word of God? Of course it is. I have a Catholic Bible. I have Greek with all variance listed. Internally, the Bible is consistent with itself and is its own authentication. Entertain for a moment Rstrats 'agrees' with Luther. Suddenly there is no problem...

    The Joys of Catholicism

You are deluding yourself, granted because the experience is significantly meaningful to you, but 1) Does the bread literally become human flesh before you swallow it? Of course not, but you'll argue it is 'real flesh' just the same. 2) The wine? Does it have a metallic salty taste to you...

WHAT DOES BAPTIZED FOR THE DEAD MEAN ?

The way I was instructed in seminary: They did it (right or wrong). Hence the question from Paul: "Why do it if there is no after-life?" Thus it meant they did it, not necessarily that it was of effect, just the idea of "Hey you guys, don't you realize you have a quirk in your ideas?"

    A little comedy break....

Sadly, this looks really good! I didn't get the joke at all...well, other than the utter decadence! I mean, if you are gonna go for it...I'm all in!

    Are Tattoos Sinful?

Welcome back. There are prohibitions for Jews but didn't keep them from having them as marks they were under another's authority (several scriptures come to mind). In a word, "no" not in and of itself. I've a good many art works, would dread being stuck with any particular one for all of...

    Paul's gospel started late....

DBR altogether. The crucifixion is indeed 'our' good news (penalty for sin) that Jesus took. It is sobering, and incredible love. He was buried and rose conquering sin and the grave and giving life everlasting. Part but Paul was very clear on a pointed difference: Grace + nothing =...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

I want to say 'heresy' thus we didn't get further than that. Yes, I think a professor has to keep tenure. We had one professor who had a short-leash (wasn't 2nd Acts Disp any longer). He was my favorite professor. Yes. No, I think it is exactly this thread, and good post.

    The Joys of Catholicism

That's a whole other reason to eschew from the top-down. Here's your sign? When it is as prolific, and not until these issue became public (had been happening over 50 years!), then 'holiness' and 'real-presence' must necessarily be questioned. It is very odd, as a Protestant, you moved...

    Have I gone MAD???

Doing a little backtracking and reading. Putting a good many 'likes' and thank you's on this simply because I really appreciate all of you doing this for/with me. Merry Christ-mas everyone and I take all this labor as a nice present this year for me. Uber thank you!

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

While this will not make you Mid Acts, it will help you grasp appreciatively the point(s) of difference. Most 2nd Acts reject Mid Acts outright. In my 2nd Acts seminary, we didn't even get to study them because they were 'way off base.' Of course a 2nd Acts college would uphold 2nd Acts...

    Paul's gospel started late....

Starting with 'gospel' meaning 'good news' Jesus was full of good news (pl). It helps if one knows all the good news-es is about Him. This particular good news is good news for the whole world (gentiles).

Do some of the Scriptural Truths offend you?

No. You made that up to fit your doctrine! You did! It is scripture twisting! ἔρχομαι Erckomi means 'come.' I remember it from Greek class because it sounds like "hear come I." Yours a theory, but if it doesn't line with scripture, you need an education. Be a student.

    Young Earth or Old?

Called the 'gap' theory if that helps. Nick posted a verse for consideration in another thread: Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

    The Joys of Catholicism

Swept under the rug? Do you even know your own mind? Ya know, if you are the local spokesman for "Roman Catholicism" it isn't looking good presently, right?
