I scanned some copies I made back in the "Caramel Days".

Attached is what TOL looked like in the summer of 2006.

Other theology forums copied this look and actually still use it! :chuckle:

I like the carmel color, it makes me want coffee, but that is hard to read.

Are there any major changes in the forseeable future? What might TOL look like in June 2007?

A better question is if God already knows what TOL will look like in June 2007? You should pray so you don't start working on the wrong design.

I learned a lot during the caramel days.

And yes, it certainly made me develop a greater urge for coffee. :D

In this thread I will do my best to catalog a running history of TOL though the ages.

Look what I dug up! A screen shot of the very first version of TheologyOnLine. Notice we didn't yet own the domain name "theologyonline.com".

This screen shot was taken Oct 27th 1997 - I am not sure how long TOL was up and running before this shot was taken.
On Monday October 27, 1997, I was in my fourth grade class and probably really excited about getting candy at Halloween.

Immortalized in those is the question "Lucky, why is your heart breaking?" yet the answer, unfortunately, lies firmly in the cold clasped hands of the past beyond our reach.

I am a tad fuzzy on what look came next....

You might notice I didn't take some of these screen shots. They were submitted to the old gallery from various TOL members and that's why I have them.
Hey! If you look closely you can see "The Berean" responding to "which human invention is more".

Historical questions for Knight

Historical questions for Knight

Knight,

Did you start this site yourself or did you take over for someone else? I ask because your "join date" isn't 1997.

How many people were on the forum at first and about how many did TOL increase in the following years?

What happened to Knight cam?

This is when TOL really started to get rolling.

I think this is 1998-ish?

I remember posting back in the days of this look. Do you have a database of old usernames and/or posts from those older forums?

You can also find a lot of old looks on the Alexa website, where they somehow chronicle the site's appearance throughout the years.
