Hardworking and diligent people don't earn minimum wage.

Minimum wage is earned by students, senior citizens, and underachievers.

You truly have zero idea what you're talking about. None. Zip. You're clueless, callous, and out of touch with reality.

This kind of ignorance goes a ways towards explaining what's wrong with us.

I've never even ate at a Taco Bell.

That would make a great commercial for them.
Get several people like you and bring them to Taco Bell.
The camera is on you while you enjoy your first Gordita.
But all goes wrong when you realize the Taco Bell workers you've insulted spit in it.

You're in a noticeably tissy mood today. You're not even trying to support your assertions...you're just tossing whiny insults and gainsaying like a petulant teen. You need a break, man. Take one and quit embarrassing yourself.

It's so bad in this country, that's why millions come here from other countries.

Have you ever been to a third world country? Have you even ever been out of this country? (not counting Canada)

Your socialism/communism/Marxism doesn't work. It hasn't come close to working ever.

There will always be poor people. Jesus even tells us so (Matt 26:11 The poor you will always have with you....) However, only in a society with capitalism does everyone have a chance to not be poor.

Your socialism/communism/Marxism guarantees everyone to be poor with no chance of not being poor. All you have to do is look at Cuba, North Korea, etc.

Today Fast Food workers all across America are protesting demanding to be paid more.

This is a battle they will not win. After all..... even if they win.... they will lose.

It's fairly simple..... if we force private companies to pay a wage that is above what the market demands, companies will be forced to employ less people and fire folks that might normally be needed and employed.

And even worse.... If the minimum wage is inflated, companies will raise prices to accommodate the new wage thereby raising the cost of living and making the new wage less valuable.

It's self defeating to fight against the free market.

Correct, goods and services increase on average double when its increased and any gain then becomes a loss and people end up with less overall after that happens.

A fast food job is not intended to be a career move unless the persons aspiration is management there - they make well over minimum wage.

A fast food hourly job is not intended to support a family.

As long as you are falsely labelling people, why not also just ignore that Cuba and North Korea were intentionally isolated.

I go back and forth on the minimum wage issue. FWIW In-N-Out pays the highest wages by far in the fast food industry. In-N-Out's starting wage is $10.50/hr, $2 more than the next fast food company. They also give medical, vision, and dental coverage. In-N-Out is privately owned ans was founded by a family who believed in making a quality product, focusing on customer satisfaction, and treating their employees fairly. Today In-N-Out is owned by the granddaughter of the founders.

Why Does In-N-Out Pay So Well?

A company called Momentum Machines has designed a robotic hamburger making machine. It was in the news recently. I wonder how this new technology will affect the fast food industry? :idunno:

BURGER ROBOT POISED TO DISRUPT FAST FOOD INDUSTRY

Here's The Burger-Flipping Robot That Could Put Fast-Food Workers Out Of A Job

Theoretical economists were shocked when Henry Ford paid his workers double the going rate. Henry wasn't doing it out of kindness; he was an autocrat, who detested unions.

He simply realized that he could sell more cars, if there were more people able to buy them. This is why the economy repeatedly defies supply-side economists, and doesn't tank each time the minimum wage goes up. In fact, there's no discernible trend at all from raises in the minimum wage.

Henry Ford didn't raise the minimum wage.

And these are the people that deserve more than minimum wage?

What you're pointing to really is a larger problem, and it would be a problem regardless of wages.

Humans Need Not Apply

The bottom line is, we don't really want to continually ask humans to compete for jobs with technologies that can replace them. It's inefficient, and it actually lowers the standard of living for everyone. But it does leave us with a huge economic problem, looming larger every day. What do we do with the increasingly unemployable humans?

hmm I dont think you have dealt with the barriers to success than others have.

these tend to include

  • lack of stable family
  • lack of good healthcare
  • lack of access to education
  • poor parenting
  • limited intelligence
  • depressed area
  • poor healthcare
  • poor mental health
  • lack of transportation
  • lack of role models
  • lack of experience

All of these can be overcome, with hard wok and some cases a little luck, but many are not easy to overcome, when you start combining factors it can become difficult.

Hardworking and diligent people don't earn minimum wage; they make a lot more than minimum wage.

Minimum wage is earned by students, senior citizens, and underachievers.

We should let them go hungry, and homeless, and eventually die under a bridge, somewhere, as punishment for not making themselves useful servants of the gods of profit.

Only because Senior Citizens are now working at McDonald's and other fast food restaurants because they are living older and retiring earlier.

Which is why you should go by the median age, and not the average age.

For example, if four 16 year olds and one 87 year old work at McDonald's, the average age would be 30 years old, whereas the median age would be 16 years old.

Why don't you blame it on Darby, Bullinger, Craigie?
