The Chinese government, like any authoritarian government, operates entirely on propaganda. If it doesn't make the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) look good, it isn't likely get reported in the media. Many Western media outlets tow the "official" news coming out of China, which is heavily censored by the CCP. There are some exceptions, however. This is an informative 7-minute video worth watching in its entirety, but worth pointing out is what is said at the 3:47 mark where a report from a contact in China states that people have been quarantined in their homes for 42 days and counting, and they haven't even tested positive for the virus or gotten sick:

No, he didn't, he effectively made light of Covid-19 until the cases escalated in America where he had to take action. It's all on record. He even lies about knowing it was a pandemic from the get go despite earlier flippancy where he said no such thing and in fact totally contradicted himself
It's got nothing to do with being a "mean person", it's simply recognizing that the current occupant of the WH is a self serving narcissist that was obvious even before he ran for office.

No, he isn't and he's come in for a lot of criticism because of it. If you're just another Trumper like TG then there's little point in reasoning with you because there's no reason to be had. Where it comes to Boris Johnson, then he's had his fair share of criticism too and I'm hardly a fan of the current administration as it is. He should have enforced stricter lockdown measures before he did as simply encouraging people to stay away from pubs and clubs was never going to cut it and only delayed the inevitable situation we have now. Charles doesn't have any power anyway and I'm not interested in the royal family.

Yes.... that's a problem. Quite a few people (around here) are hoping that Western rates will peak, flatten and die away, based upon what they've heard about the China figures.
We would need to see this happen in one other country now, I reckon.

Of course, the Chinese can (no doubt) be much more aggressive with much tighter lock-downs than most Western countries and this might have resulted in a sudden reduction............... but, hey, I will join you and Arthur in doubts.

You're welcome, and it would certainly seem that the imposition of draconian measures on the Chinese people by their authoritarian government would rather effectively suppress the spread of this virus. If only we could trust their data. Perhaps time will tell. In the meantime, we have Trump telling us that he wants our churches full of attendees come Easter, which is just a couple of weeks away. Time will tell on that as well.

We must all remember that, the next time you make any comment about any other country or its leadership.
We are talking about a World Wide pandemic here, much bigger than folks like you (or your President?) ever anticipated, and it includes your country. So of course we make mention of the USA's situation just like we do our own.
It's not about an election, it's about a PANDEMIC.

Oh dear. Our specialists reckon that the USA will peak a few weeks after us in UK, and they expect our peak in 2-3 weeks, I think.
This was never going to be good.
Our UK peak is going to be horrific.
'They' were talking about 1-3% mortality rates back in February. They aren't now. The UK looks like about 4-5% at the moment.
We are losing a % of younger fitter people as well.
