And yet, you want to base law on what you call "God's law". Sounds like theocracy to me.

Sounds like you need to learn the difference.

http://www.governmentvs.com/en/theocracy-vs-monarchy/comparison-38-14-0

What are the main differences?

Well in the Mosaic law, for starters, theft isn't punished by chopping off hands, it's punished by restitution, assault crimes are eye for eye, hand for hand, tooth for tooth, etc., and capital crimes, such as murder (life for life) and kidnapping and rape are punished by execution.

That's true. You pick a different god and a different holy book.

One written by men who were inspired by the one true God, or one written by a wicked man who molested children, killed innocent people, and hated the Jews.

One written with the flavor of realism, making prominent it's people's faults and failures, or one written by a man who mostly speaks of his achievements.

Yeah, not much of a difference.

"we" do not have that right. I should have said that. "We" as a nation can do anything except "violence" to sway the Iranian government to step up to the plate. We do not have the right to just go in and install a constitutional monarchy.

To get a little more back on topic....

Some of the protestors have been chanting "Death to Khamenei", which is a capital offense in Iran. So, in some sense, they've crossed a sort of Rubicon, and they have nothing left to lose, because they've already forfeited their lives in the protests. People in that position could do nearly anything if it seems to them to help their cause.

It'll be an interesting show.

So what happens? How do we help the Iranians revolute? If that's what they want. Should we?
Invite them into the Union.
The US should annex countries as new states. State number 51? France? Israel? Canada? Russia?

They'd get two senate seats, and congressmen proportional to their population, and the number of congressmen plus two, electoral votes in presidential elections.

Is it just a coincidence that the biggest protests since 2009 have hit Iran shortly after a secret agreement was revealed between Washington, Tel Aviv, and Riyadh to destabilize Iran? And shortly after a new Executive Order was issued by President Trump allowing him to seize US assets of anyone he deems a "human rights abuser" ...or anyone who aids a designated "human rights abuser"?

One of the great ironies of the Trump era has been the fact that so many of the worst conspiracy theorists have blinded themselves to the greatest actual conspiracy in history.

You think Trump being President is the "Greatest Actual Conspiracy in History" but you want to call others Conspiracy Theorists?

It would be truly awesome if Iran fixed itself. 80 million people is a huge market.

The Elite will be fleeing soon to their Swiss bank accounts.

Pretty much. Seeing conspiracies behind every bush is pathology. But there are real conspiracies. The difference between the two is a question of discernment.

Describing Iran as a "market" in this context says a lot.
Do you want to declare them some sort of park?
Are they a museum exhibit?
Or are they humans that want McDonald's and I-phones just like the rest of us?
