Iran is failing at every level despite the terrible deal made with them by the Obama Administration. The great Iranian people have been repressed for many years. They are hungry for food & for freedom. Along with human rights, the wealth of Iran is being looted. TIME FOR CHANGE!

So what happens? How do we help the Iranians revolute? If that's what they want. Should we?

Here's one idea:

The Iranians are demanding real democracy, and a real choice in leaders, and an end to clericalism? That's great. They should have that. To that end, let's stay out of it. Western, and especially US interference empowers the reactionary clerics. Why play into their interests? Why play the part of the Great Satan? This is Iran's government, and the more they are allowed to choose it without anyone else interfering, the more legitimacy it will have.

The last time we messed in Iranian politics, we brought down a pro-western, democratically-elected government and helped a dictator take power. And eventually, that led to the present dictatorship. The best way to destroy the growing democracy movement in Iran would be for our government to endorse it.

We can't do anything constructive there.

Maybe they can be the Great Satan for the next 40 years.

I'm not saying we can't play any roll. But I don't think we should be too eager to positively intervene right away. Let the Iranians figure it out, and we can maybe work in the UN to deter and punish atrocities. Of course, that would be a lot easier if we didn't have a UN skeptic in office.
