Mistakes in war

In WW2, a squadron of Mustangs left England for a highspeed low altitude raid in northern Germany or Holland. Truly under the radar. The squadron was in its sub groups who would stay in formation with each other and follow the wing commander who was also the spotter. As back up on the important task of spotting, there was more than one in the lead group. The target was a building which had been confirmed on the ground as an unmarked front line of command and control.

The raid started fine however, it was low altitude and high speed. The spotting team were accurate and ordinances were deployed. But one of the first group who went through nicked a building a couple blocks before the target and was disabled and went down. The explosion there was taken to be the marker for the following groups and thus the mission was derailed.

The mistaken building that was hit was an elementary school, in session.

There was no intention of doing so. But today we read about the Afghan hospital and not even 24 hours after the awful event when no one could possibly know what happened, the coalition forces are being treated as the leading violators of human rights. The accusers get this from the Accuser-in-Chief and things he says about Ferguson and Roseburg.

As we know from Hiroshima, if there is going to be war, it must be an overwhelming-force attack that has no interest in setting up camp, but only in winning and being done.

Due to the assistance that Obama has been to the ISIS campaign (planned draw-down announcements mentioned casually years in advance in campaign speeches; in fact, every speech he makes is a campaign speech), I'm not surprised more of this hasn't happened.

Using a tragedy as an excuse to spew idiotic partisan political bile is pathetic. Grow up.

That's exactly what I thought Obama was doing, and our major liberal media, and the Doctors Without Borders nurse KING Seattle found saying 'this is an attack on all DWB staff' not even 24 hours after the event before there has been any chance for an explanation.

Do you usually do things that way?

I see, so Obama's early conclusions about Ferguson, which were all completely contradicted by judicial procedure, are "true" anyway? As you know, that is what religious "truth" is--it's subjective and private. "True truth" (as Dr. Schaeffer would say) is objective and integrated.

Excuse me, but why did the coalition wait 10 years to attack DsWB? That's how long they've been there.

Your vision of reality is so twisted up by your political bias that it's pointless to even discuss it with you. It's like talking to a drunk about alcoholism while they're drinking. It's just a waste of time.

Defiant Obama Calls for America to ‘Politicize’ Oregon College Shooting

A frustrated President Obama demanded change on gun control after the Oregon college shooting which grabbed the nation’s attention Thursday.

The president was clearly angry with the frequency of mass shootings in America — and critics who said he was politicizing the issue. “This is something we should politicize,” he said earnestly. “It is relevant to our common life together, to the body politic.”

Obama offered his sympathy for the victims of the shooting at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College before he launched an emotional appeal more gun control, but he didn’t hold back when condemning Second Amendment supporters.

“Our thoughts and prayers are not enough. It’s not enough. It does not capture the heartache and grief and anger that we should feel and it does nothing to prevent this carnage from being inflicted somewhere else in America.”

yes, obama needs to grow up, i agree!

The first mistake, in my opinion, is believing there are only two ways to confront conflict:

Giving in OR fighting back.

The successes of nonviolence and diplomacy through the years show that human beings can use their imaginations, creativity and mental nimbleness to bring a diverse number of other choices to the table. In my own experience acting nonviolently, I have been able to recognize and study Jesus's own language about nonviolence and have been able to "translate" his actions to real life.

And the martial art of aikido is the only martial art which deals with an opponent without harming them. Psychological aikido is useful as well.

Take one piece at a time, pal. What was the judiciary review of Ferguson? Was the event compared to national figures about black v black violence? What is interesting is how quickly the major liberal movers have a catchy way to rally interest in their distortion. this time it was something like 'hands up; don't shoot'. It was just a guy with a theft record pounding in the face of a police officer, that's all.

I can only claim to have helped many people deal effectively with conflict in their lives. My raising of my own daughter was my first success.

And I have used nonviolent communication in my own life to save myself. I remember once I had to confront a drunken gang of noisy bikers and successfully used nonviolent action.

To repeat myself, I also use "psychological aikido." That martial art is the only one that deals with an opponent without harming them. It's one of the good ways to put into practice "loving your enemies."
