Honestly not sure-
I have my beliefs - but i think they are more opinions - for lack of a better word -on creation, god, other religions and beliefs etc.
I have questions regarding my son - who is 13 -
Where my "beliefs" go more towards what freelight( a poster on here)
Believes - practices - my son is pretty much the opposite -
He is quite black and white - god- devil- heaven- hell-
Although that is not what I have taught him - but is his own conclusions.
Who am I to stand in his way in his journey to
God? So I guess I am looking to learn how to guide him ,
Even though we do not share the same opinion.....
Make sense?????

All except the part about guiding a teenager. I've yet to find someone who is able to do that successfully for any amount of time. If you have a method, you have a fortune on your hands. :D

Thank you - guiding a teenager! I find he guides me more than I him! I seers I've learned more about myself and have more questions since he's turned 13!!
I also have a 10 year old girl - she's thinks like me - Not sure if that's a good thing or not ;)

Hi :wave2:

My parents were Christians who were very open minded and respectful toward other faiths. At 18 I became a full-on Christian fundamentalist, totally committed to the idea of Biblical in-errancy etc. I spent 25 years on that journey.

These days my thinking is much more resonant with freelight.

Sounds like I might be of some use to you? :chuckle:

Welcome.

Oh hi John!! I was actually thinking of you! I have been following freelights post on Hinduism and saw your post and thought you were so sincere in what you post!! I was raised Catholic - kind of - we went to church until I was about 12 - then we stopped going - we did Xmas midnight mass, and Easter - ect. That was about it - it never Jived with me -
Anyway- maybe you can help me give my son some answers - he is interested in god - Jesus - asks me questions - I can't answer at all - so I feel helpless - I know he wants something to believe in - and my beliefs - don't jive with him - I would like to get him some material that is easy for him to understand - that explains god and Jesus - I want to keep it simple for him - once he has some knowledge - he can do with it as he pleases - so John - or anyone for yhat matter - any ideas?!
