Hi,

The only period of time mentioned in the NT as being at the end of this age is a period of 3.5 years.

The same is shown at the end of the book of Daniel.

Christ appeared at the beginning of the 70th week of years and was crucified in the middle of the week thus ending the sacrifices and oblations of the law.

Christ confirmed the covenant for that first half of the week and will do so again in the last half yet to come.

The saints are always the Holy ones regardless of their flesh.

Dan 12:6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?"
Dan 12:7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished.
Dan 12:8 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, "My lord, what shall be the end of these things?"
Dan 12:9 And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
Dan 12:10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
Dan 12:11 "And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.
Dan 12:12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
Dan 12:13 "But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.

The same denial that Christ's first disciples had, also exists with the last.

LA attributes the work of anti-Christ to the LORD. How terrible.

Daniel 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

Daniel 8:10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

Daniel 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Daniel 11:21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

Daniel 11:22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

Hal Lindsey said there would be a seven year tribulation. I never found this terminology in scripture. Jerusalem would be trodden under foot by the Gentiles fortytwo months.

Well, I see a 70th week, and beginning at the midpoint there shall be great tribulation.

But you can see from the scripture that the first 3.5 years is no picnic.

So, what was the abomination of desolation that was set up in the midst of the week? Who set it up?

Revelation 11:2 King James Version (KJV)

2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Revelation 13:5 King James Version (KJV)

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

42 months + 42 months = 84 months which is seven years. Do the math. It's pretty simple.

So, what was the abomination of desolation that was set up in the midst of the week? Who set it up?

Christ was crucified in the middle of the week and thus ended the sacrifices and oblations of the old covenant.

That is when the gap in the week started.

The abomination of desolation is the beginning of the 3.5 years of the book of Revelation and it does not begin with the ending of sacrifices and oblations because the translators got it wrong (again).

The 3.5 years (one and only) begins with the removal of the "daily"
not the sacrifice.

The word "sacrifice" is not in it, and has nothing to do with Dan. 9:27.

Dan 12:11 And from the timeH4480 H6256 that the dailyH8548 shall be taken away,H5493 and the abominationH8251 that maketh desolateH8074 set up,H5414 there shall be a thousandH505 two hundredH3967 and ninetyH8673 days.H3117

The daily can be either or both of two things.

The daily light is the preferred thought, because the daily sacrifice of sheep continues.

The removal of light from the churches is caused both by their worship of the beast, and the response of the Lord to it.

Mic 3:6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
Mic 3:7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.

Stone temples have nothing to do with it, except that apostates like the idea of building them.

Daniel 9:27
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Who is the "he" and what is the "covenant" in that verse?

Jeremiah 31:31-33
31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

The "he" is the LORD and the covenant is the new covenant.

The "he" is not the anti-christ, the covenant is not a peace treaty, and the last seven years of the seventy weeks prophecy have already come and gone.

Where in the Bible does it say that the Tribulation will last for 7 years?

Daniel 9:24-27

24“Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.

25“So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress.

26“Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.

27“And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”
According to the above passage, God has declared “seventy weeks” for the Jews. This period is given to “finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.” (v 24)

The entire “seventy weeks” will be followed by the Millennium kingdom as prophesied in the Bible, which will last for a 1000 years with the Messiah Jesus Christ literally reigning on earth.

However, the “seventy weeks” isn’t a continuous period – it is consisted of seven weeks, sixty-two weeks, and one week. Each week stands for 7 biblical years.

This complete destruction of the one who makes desolate takes it up to the end of this age according to Rev.ch 18.

Rev 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
Rev 18:22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
Rev 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
Rev 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

The 70 weeks were given to Daniel in chp 9.

Why in the world would you think the prophecies found before chp 9 pertained to the same things that were to occur in the 70 weeks?

You cannot escape the fact that a vile person causes the sacrifice to cease, sets up an abomination, and he is the prince of the covenant.
