Fixed.

Fixed.

Perhaps you misunderstood, I said "fixed". Fixed, as in unmoving, absolute, concrete.

You can use yourself as a reference point but it will have no validity.

The word "north" is meaningless if each individual can decide for himself where north is.

Likewise, the concept of "morals" is empty when it is allowed to be defined an infinite number of ways.

Oh, I see... So, if you're the fixed reference in your life, than I must be the fixed reference in my life and so forth with every human being. Hey Gerald, I think that it is the right thing to do to kill you for some money so I can eat. Why should I go to jail for murder if I say that killing you is right? I thought I was the fixed reference in my life?

You are more than welcome to try, though you'd more than likely only get to eat lead.
Why should I go to jail for murder if I say that killing you is right?
Because you don't have the firepower to back that assertion up; John Law has bigger guns than you do.
I thought I was the fixed reference in my life?
And so you are; if you rock the boat, don't whine if somebody bigger and hairier than you steps on your throat.

Catching the theme here? That he what has the biggest stick is right...?

This was sort of out of the blue... I almost missed this post, LightSon.

FYI, I meet the defintion of an atheist.

(That's why it says "Resident Atheist" under my name over there on the left.) ;)
