The Imputation of Sin and Righteousness

IMPUTE: To attribute (a fault, crime, etc.)to a person; charge.

IMPUTATION: The act of imputing; accusation. That which is imputed or charged.

God can and will impute sin and righteousness, Romans 4:8.

There is nothing in the Bible about anyone being "infused" with righteousness. The word "Infused" does not appear in the Bible. As long as we are in these sinful Adamic bodies the righteousness of Christ is imputed to us. This means that it is to our account. We don't have it yet. We will receive the righteousness of Christ when Christ appears.

"When Christ who is our life, shall appear, then shall we also appear with him in glory" Colossians 3:4.

Until then we have to struggle with sin just like Paul did, Romans 7:13-25. If you don't have this struggle in your life you may not have the Holy Spirit because..."The flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that you would" Galatians 5:17.

Because Abraham believed God his faith was counted unto him for righteousness, Romans 4:3. "Abraham being fully persuaded that, what God had promised, he was also able to perform and therefore IT WAS IMPUTED TO HIM FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him, but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences and was raised again for our justification" Romans 4:21, 22, 23, 24, 25.

Faith in Christ and his Gospel brings imputed righteousness. We hear the Gospel, we believe the Gospel and our faith is counted for righteousness and the righteousness of Christ is imputed to us.

What about the lost? In the judgment if God does not see you "In Christ" your sins will be imputed to you and you will be condemned. For now, God sees ALL THINGS in his Son Jesus Christ, Colossians 1:20. However, when Christ appears there will be judgment of unbelievers, Hebrews 9:27.

The Christians judgment has already taken place in Christ. This is why Paul said, "I have been crucified with Christ" When Christ died, we died with him. When Christ arose from the dead, we arose with him. We are NOW new creations in Jesus Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:17.

You said that nobody in the world has any sins, they were defeated by Christ.

You said that nobody in the world has any sins, they were defeated by Christ.

Revelation 20:12 states: "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."

John was witnessing the "Judgement" and if you'll notice the
verse states, "according to their works?" It speaks
of the unsaved peoples of the earth. And, they are not being
judged by their "sins" but, by their "works?" Why? Because,
Christ took care of the sin question at the cross. All of mankind's
sins were paid for at the cross. However, only those who place
their faith in Christ as their Savior will receive the benefits of
Christ's death and resurrection. The unsaved will be judged by
their works, not their sins.

What possible distinction is there between works and sins?

There are some passages in the Bible that speak of an infusion of God into our lives, but it is not what justification/imputed righteousness is. Instead, it is an effect or by-product of.

We must believe that their works fell short of what God requires which is perfection. Anything short of perfection in Gods eyes is sin. Their works did not measure up because they were sinful.

Jesus is Lord over ALL THINGS even sin. He can and will impute sin where ever he finds unbelief, Romans 4:8.

"But the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murders and whoremongers and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death" Revelation 21:8.

A miserable bunch of sinners.

Jesus has atoned for the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2.

God now sees ALL THINGS in Christ.

However, there will be a judgment when Christ returns. The unsaved will be judged and their sins will be imputed to them and they will be condemned.

How can God impute sin when he was already satisfied? You defined "atonement" as satisfaction or reparation for a wrong done or injury. You clearly said that Jesus made satisfaction for ALL sin.

As far as God is concerned Jesus is the savior of the whole world.

God sees ALL THINGS in his Son Jesus Christ.

But that does not answer the question regarding the lost.

There will be a judgment of unbelievers that are NOT "In Christ".

Even though there sins have been atoned for they are still lost because they did not believe. They are outside of Christ.

Because they are outside of Christ there sins will be imputed to them and they will be condemned.

This is why Paul wrote... "Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin" Romans 4:8.

All will be judged.

"You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat" (Romans 14:10).

All sinful will be judged. Only through Christ under God can one be without sin and damnation. Sins prior to the knowledge and acceptance of Christ are not judged due to lack of knowledge, in which case the individual will be weighed by there works alone. To know of God's direction and still sin or not live by the teachings of Jesus to the best of your ability is damning. Thanks.

On the contrary, see this, this, and this,

End of thread.

Even your very best is still tainted with sin and pride.

Jesus was without sin. This is why sinners cannot save sinners, nor can sinners save themselves.

If you are going to be saved then you must look for a salvation that is totally and completely outside of yourself.

God does not accept the works or the obedience of sinners. God only accepts the work and the person of Jesus Christ.

Will you have confidence to stand before God in the judgment based upon your works? Not me.

Don't you have any thoughts of your own? Are you so indoctrinated by the Catholic church that you can no longer think for yourself?
I think for myself at least as much as you do, friend. I can just as well ask you: "Don't you have any thoughts of your own? Are you so indoctrinated by your preferred recently-invented, man-made non-Catholic sect that you can no longer think for yourself?" (See how that works?)

Still Post #13.
