You're taking the Lord Jesus's name in vain in saying this. The believing recognition is of the central truth of the Christian faith, which is that He the Lord Jesus is risen from the dead, verses 6, 6, 6, from chapters 28, 16, and 24, in the New Testament books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

There was a gospel that Jesus lived, taught and preached before the cross. That gospel was not "Christ and him crucified", obveously, because Jesus was trying to enlist the Jews to his religion. Had the Jews been largely converted to the religion of Jesus, they would be living, teaching and preaching the original gospel today from Jerusalem.

Jesus and his original, pre-cross gospel was soundly rejected by the Jews.

After the tragic rejection, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension, a NEW gospel, a new religion about Jesus and about the cross developed.

Christianity is a shadow of the original.

Eventually we will return to the original.

The sayings of Jesus in the UB, hold just as much value and meaning if not in other ways or nuances than the gospels themselves, since they are but 'religious narrative' and 'allegorical' on many levels, and do NOT claim to be actual biographies....or even actual record of personal eyewitnesses....we dont even know WHO wrote the gospels, as any name or tradition can be associated with any book, and any 'assumption' made (many books were just given a well known name to give it some kind of credential). So,....just because you believe one bible (collection of books or papers) is authentic, does NOT necessarily make it so, as many different methods or 'criteria' can be applied to 'prove' or 'disprove' authenticity. My current studies in the historical or mythical Christ perspectives show this much, without going deeper into it. More to come on such points.

Again, the simple truth that Jesus saying his 'gospel' is about the revelation that we are all children of God, and that God is our Father, is fundamental, relationally speaking, concerning our actual relationship with DEITY. The NT narrative and focus of Paul's gospel on the 'crucifixion' is merely Paul's emphasis,....a concept that h got by what he claims 'personal revelation' and what he assumed is found in the 'scriptures', but little exists in the OT about Jesus having to die and be raised the 3rd day, as Paul claims,...but if you look with a fine tooth comb, you can maybe find ALLEGORIES of 'Christ crucified' in the OT, but again...its all allegorical, esoterically hidden.

Paul's whole gospel is his own 'experience' according to a voice and light which he assumed to be the ascended Jesus, and that is all,....and some cryptic interpretation from the so called 'scriptures' (Paul even quotes a few verses that are not found in any extant scriptures that we know, showing other records may have existed that are now lost). Later gospel narratives may be been attempts to historicize the 'celestial Jesus' of Paul's teaching, to make it palpable to the masses. How much of the gospels are embellished or just patchwork quilt? Hence the probability of some of the gospels being religious fiction. This might also cause one to look at the UB account with raised eyebrows, since it vouches for the authenticity and historicity of Jesus and much of the NT record (with some errors), although current research shows that the 'Mythicist' view of Jesus is also a possibility. See my reading of Lataster's book on Jesus existence here. Richard Carrier's book on the Historicity of Jesus is also interesting, making some waves in Academia. - I havent read it yet.

So,....the fundamental truth of our relationship with God as it actually exists and its POTENTIAL, the soul's potential for immortality is the most important truth at hand
(which the UB goes into great depth and detail), not so much the details of Jesus death, burial, resurrection, etc....although these are part of the Son of Man's mortal experience, which have their own teaching lessons and implications of course. Therefore your charge for 'taking the Lord Jesus name in vain' is groundless, if not presumptuous, based on so many presuppositions :)
So what if God raised Jesus from the dead,....that is an important focal point in the NT of course, and in Paul's gospel,....but if you're a theist and a spiritualist at the least....you believe souls after they die...are RAISED from their physical bodies as spirits,...and enter the spirit world...and that is the first resurrection, so to speak, one that all souls undergo. Furthermore, a 'resurrection' also may refer to our spiritual transformation or ascension into a higher realm or quality of existence, so the language is 'figurative', as is the case with most language anyways.

What really matters is how one is relating to and experiencing the presence and will of Deity in their daily lives and those choices being made which determine eternal destiny or whether a soul attains immortality, in the service of the higher ONE. It could be questioned what a mere belief in a risen Jesus even gives one, since a mere intellectual acceptance that God raised Jesus from the dead by some miraculous means, may not necessarily produce some kind of inward transformation or change of heart, unless WITH such a belief or confession....some real transformation or processs of salvation/illumination within the soul has actually TRANSPIRED, to effect anything of lasting or eternal value.

Therefore, this thread attests to the entire question of man's relationship with 'God', whether you hold to a biblical context on its assumed authority or tradition, or within a greater cosmological context of the UB, as the lastest epochal revelation to the planet. It is what can be communicated in the books or papers given that counts, as to their deeper meaning and value, as the soul translates and interprets the texts by help of the Spirit.

As we've shown in the very last paper of this epochal revelation, the 'Faith of Jesus' here, this revelation or expansion on the 'faith of Jesus' ought to be of fundamental import to any believer in Jesus. The faith of Jesus is central to the whole relationahip of man and God (existentially and experientialized realized in the person of Jesus and subsequently all mortal souls evolving towards immortality status). The papers expound exponentially upon this central theme, so their meaning and value exists for those who discover such in their own study.

My former post 'Question your assumptions' still holds, as for my own research, it matters not at this point if Jesus is a mythical character or an actual personality that incarnated on earth at some point in time, as 'evidence' for either has various supports as well as room for 'doubt' given whatever criteria is presented to verify or deem such 'probable'. What does exist is some character named Jesus whose claims and teachings, as recorded, stands on its own merit, as to any meaning or value derived therefrom, while the greater 'theology' or 'Christology' FORMED around or upon his person is 'incidental' and only 'relationally relevant' IF some framework of religious meaning and spiritual value can be accorded thereform. And that folks is all you got, beyond all the interpretations intra and super-imposed upon the template ;)

With that, any book or collection of books (call such tomes 'bibles' if you wish) is just as good as any other, - its the meaning and values derived from the given texts and how they are applied that matters. You cant even prove 'God' or 'gods' exists except in your own mind,....and still...whatever label you slap upon yourself, you still reap what you sow, and every 'tree' is known by its fruit, so goes the universal laws of existence, ....'karma' is still working as the unviersal lever behind all actions and their consequences, while 'free will' is at the heart of individual experience as far as choices go.

I challenge those in theological 'grid-lock' to look outside the box, since the box they've put 'God' in, is the same 'box' they limit themselves to, since there is no real seperation between the soul and God, except for what is imposed, chosen or imagined which results in one's own experience of life or death, light or darkness, suffering or joy. I challenge those in theological 'grid-lock' to look outside the box, since the box they've put 'God' in, is the same 'box' they limit themselves to, since there is no real seperation between the soul and God, except for what is imposed, chosen or imagined which results in one's own experience of life or death, light or darkness, suffering or joy. Its all 'alphabet soup' at the end of the day, and you must ultimately enjoy the shade of your own tree (your own revelation, awakening to tuth, work), and reap the harvest of your own planting, here and in eternity.
And to those same people, I merely inform, that believing that Jesus Christ is risen, is the shorthand Christian faith, so if you want to be a Christian, believe Easter is historical and nonfiction (Ro10:9KJV), and go from there.

10:1.1 It would seem that the Father, back in eternity, inaugurated a policy of profound self-distribution. There is inherent in the selfless, loving, and lovable nature of the Universal Father something which causes him to reserve to himself the exercise of only those powers and that authority which he apparently finds it impossible to delegate or to bestow.

10:1.2 The Universal Father all along has divested himself of every part of himself that was bestowable on any other Creator or creature. He has delegated to his divine Sons and their associated intelligences every power and all authority that could be delegated. He has actually transferred to his Sovereign Sons, in their respective universes, every prerogative of administrative authority that was transferable. In the affairs of a local universe, he has made each Sovereign Creator Son just as perfect, competent, and authoritative as is the Eternal Son in the original and central universe. He has given away, actually bestowed, with the dignity and sanctity of personality possession, all of himself and all of his attributes, everything he possibly could divest himself of, in every way, in every age, in every place, and to every person, and in every universe except that of his central indwelling.

10:1.3 Divine personality is not self-centered; self-distribution and sharing of personality characterize divine freewill selfhood. Creatures crave association with other personal creatures; Creators are moved to share divinity with their universe children; the personality of the Infinite is disclosed as the Universal Father, who shares reality of being and equality of self with two co-ordinate personalities, the Eternal Son and the Conjoint Actor.

10:1.4 For knowledge concerning the Father’s personality and divine attributes we will always be dependent on the revelations of the Eternal Son, for when the conjoint act of creation was effected, when the Third Person of Deity sprang into personality existence and executed the combined concepts of his divine parents, the Father ceased to exist as the unqualified personality. With the coming into being of the Conjoint Actor and the materialization of the central core of creation, certain eternal changes took place. God gave himself as an absolute personality to his Eternal Son. Thus does the Father bestow the “personality of infinity” upon his only-begotten Son, while they both bestow the “conjoint personality” of their eternal union upon the Infinite Spirit.

10:1.5 For these and other reasons beyond the concept of the finite mind, it is exceedingly difficult for the human creature to comprehend God’s infinite father-personality except as it is universally revealed in the Eternal Son and, with the Son, is universally active in the Infinite Spirit.

10:1.6 Since the Paradise Sons of God visit the evolutionary worlds and sometimes even there dwell in the likeness of mortal flesh, and since these bestowals make it possible for mortal man actually to know something of the nature and character of divine personality, therefore must the creatures of the planetary spheres look to the bestowals of these Paradise Sons for reliable and trustworthy information regarding the Father, the Son, and the Spirit."

I would add to this the emphasis that the UB's expounding upon the 'Paradise Trinity' greatly enhances one's relational vision of the Trinity, and adds insight and scope into the relationships of the divine persons, and how personality integrates and relates from the higher realms, which reflects relationships in the worlds of form below. We would point readers to dissertation upon the Trinity here and elsewhere.

That is only according to that gospel writer's (whoever it was) narrative :) - If Jesus main purpose was to just reveal the nature and attributes of God, and it just so happened that he became the victim of human cruelty, sadism and barbarity to the point of being crucified or hung on a tree (or torture stake, etc.), the value of his service and reputation still holds, and from the celestial point of view in this discourse, the message of the cross is more about the sacrifice of love, that keeps giving despite the adversarial nature of hatred, cruelty and injustice, and Jesus life as the Creator Son of this universe (incarnating here)....still holds, understood in the greater cosmic context of the UB's narrative. One's understanding and perspective depends on 'context' and RELATING all coordinates and concepts within that context,...philosophically speaking.

Our treatment of 'blood atonement' and its inefficacy has been demonstrated here and elsewhere. No amount of animal or human blood can atone for sin, since no magical quality of the blood itself exists to effect a transformation within, apart from some spiritual power effecting a change of heart and soul in its turning towards God. An 'atonement model' or concept may or may not help facilitate such a change, hence the traditional concept of 'blood atonement' is subject to critique.

Those following, I've been seg-waying discussion on the Holy Spirit being the feminine aspect of DEITY, in the 'Is the Holy Spirit female?' thread,...hilighting some aspects of the UB's teaching on 'personality' which may enhance and add further perspective on the subject. The UB does honor the Creative Spirits as being as 'Mother-spirits' to the evolving universes who serve as consorts to the Creator Sons,...but here we are just mirroring the dual-aspects of gender-attributes in Nature, and these will logically express thru 'creation'.

We would also note that I'm only expounding upon the observation of gender within God, God being the source of gender, and NOT that the Holy Spirit itself is a divine person, as posited by the creator of this particular thread, understood within a popular orthodox Christian Trinitarian perspective. We note further that the UB teaches that all 3 personalities within the Paradise Trinity are indeed personalities, while the Universal Father is ever the source of these personalities, no matter how eternal they are (within the Godhead itself), while all other personalities (angelic and mortal) are offsprings of the Universal Father.

I trust the cartographers, who were there, and you believe whatever you want to.

Note the gospels that got chosen by the church-state that assumed power were written at least 30 - 40 years after purported events and are by anonymous authors (not eyewitnesses). Only the 4th gospel hints at its author being the one Jesus loved, some believing it to actually be Lazarus and not John, while parts of John are redacted anyways ;) - anyone is free to believe a book filled with religious fiction, mythology with some historical facts and nuances thrown into the mix if they want to, and this is clearly something you are not only "wanting" to do....but are "choosing" to do.

I prefer to thoughtfully choose, study, research and continually look at the evidence rationally and scientifically. As a spiritualist/theosophist I look to the inner and esoteric meanings and values of religious myth and metaphor, and as a student of religious studies I approach the subject on many levels and dimensions.

In that context I also consider agnostic and atheistic perspectives and arguments, especially the historical Jesus claims. Im not afraid of where evidence for or against the gospel Jesus leads, since one can profit from a story whether it has historical elements or not since all interpretations and translations are subjective.

The UB holds to historical assumption of the gospels and incarnation/resurrection of this Jesus but informs and corrects certain details of these events. Details aside, the gospel teaching of Jesus is still founded on the fundamental truth of the Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of man, a social gospel of love, service and community. - the ethics and morals of this kingdom community ever holds, the UB expounding these to their ultimate and cosmic ends, the soul ever evolving and progressing to fulfil its divine purpose and cosmic destiny. On this level the UB excels in its contextual vision and ultimatum.

I find a comprehensive eclectic approach most fulfilling. You cant put 'God' in a box, much less what is infinite.

Hi all,

I revived an older thread discussing the historical reality of Jesus here :) - I openly share Im exploring a more secular, agnostic, mythicist and allegorical interpretation of the 'Christ-story' reviewing the works of scholar-writers such as Ralph Lataster and Richard Carrier bringing new light on these particular historical Jesus studies.

Of interest will be seeing how these recent debates and methodoligies at proving a historical Jesus vs. a Mythical Jesus that was later historicized, might affect the UB portrayal of Jesus. Whatever the case, the 'story' and the figure of Jesus and his teaching will stand on its own meaning, value and authority, no matter other opinions on Jesus entertained.

I was recently removed/blocked from the 'God's attitude towards science and progress' thread for standing up for zeke who was being accused and labelled as a 'Urantia' believer BY protesting their assumption as 'false labelling', since zeke is NOT a UB reader, much less a Urantia philosophy believer particularly. (he was removed from the thread and accused as being 'Urantia', so I couldnt just sit and let it go by). I stood my ground and spoke the truth, then posted upon the subject to engage in civil discussion of it, but was STILL REMOVED from the thread for confronting and 'correcting' a few posters and the moderator on this. I will continue to stand my ground and speak the truth as I see it, no matter the censorship going on, as a lesson to all of whats really going on (which is far from being a simple bias towards a particular 'version' of Christianity, extending beyond). This reflects my current open research on all subjects, religion especially, since no matter if you take a religious person to have been a historical figure or a purely fictional story (if either can even be proved or assumed as probable), its still the WHAT the STORY communicates that matters! - besides all this, the UB is a mass volume of data with many levels of meaning and value any reader can glean, hence its utility.

The UB's account on the writing of the gospels and their dates is interesting, and we can see how this relates or compares with modern day scholarship or concensus - see: The Good News

We remind readers that the UB wholly affirms and teaches the incarnation (bestowal) of Jesus to our planet, as an actual incarnation which places him as the subject of the gospel narratives and NT records, although such records underwent some reforms and revisions. Therefore, I dont know if any UB readers unless fundamentalists to the work, could embrace any form of the 'mythic Christ' model, unless they approach the story more allegorically regardless of other features or assumptions.

THE ASCENDING MORTALS


30:4.1 While the mortal survivors of time and space are denominated ascending pilgrims when accredited for the progressive ascent to Paradise, these evolutionary creatures occupy such an important place in these narratives that we here desire to present a synopsis of the following seven stages of the ascending universe career:

1. Planetary Mortals.
2. Sleeping Survivors.
3. Mansion World Students.
4. Morontia Progressors.
5. Superuniverse Wards.
6 Havona Pilgrims.
7. Paradise Arrivals.


30:4.9 The following narrative presents the universe career of an Adjuster-indwelt mortal. The Son- and Spirit-fused mortals share portions of this career, but we have elected to tell this story as it pertains to the Adjuster-fused mortals, for such a destiny may be anticipated by all of the human races of Urantia.
30:4.10 1. Planetary Mortals. Mortals are all animal-origin evolutionary beings of ascendant potential. In origin, nature, and destiny these various groups and types of human beings are not wholly unlike the Urantia peoples. The human races of each world receive the same ministry of the Sons of God and enjoy the presence of the ministering spirits of time. After natural death all types of ascenders fraternize as one morontia family on the mansion worlds.


30:4.11 2. Sleeping Survivors. All mortals of survival status, in the custody of personal guardians of destiny, pass through the portals of natural death and, on the third period, personalize on the mansion worlds. Those accredited beings who have, for any reason, been unable to attain that level of intelligence mastery and endowment of spirituality which would entitle them to personal guardians, cannot thus immediately and directly go to the mansion worlds. Such surviving souls must rest in unconscious sleep until the judgment day of a new epoch, a new dispensation, the coming of a Son of God to call the rolls of the age and adjudicate the realm, and this is the general practice throughout all Nebadon. It was said of Christ Michael that, when he ascended on high at the conclusion of his work on earth, “He led a great multitude of captives.” And these captives were the sleeping survivors from the days of Adam to the day of the Master's resurrection on Urantia.

30:4.12 The passing of time is of no moment to sleeping mortals; they are wholly unconscious and oblivious to the length of their rest. On reassembly of personality at the end of an age, those who have slept five thousand years will react no differently than those who have rested five days. Aside from this time delay these survivors pass on through the ascension regime identically with those who avoid the longer or shorter sleep of death.

30:4.13 These dispensational classes of world pilgrims are utilized for group morontia activities in the work of the local universes. There is a great advantage in the mobilization of such enormous groups; they are thus kept together for long periods of effective service.

30:4.14 3. Mansion World Students. All surviving mortals who reawaken on the mansion worlds belong to this class.

30:4.15 The physical body of mortal flesh is not a part of the reassembly of the sleeping survivor; the physical body has returned to dust. The seraphim of assignment sponsors the new body, the morontia form, as the new life vehicle for the immortal soul and for the indwelling of the returned Adjuster. The Adjuster is the custodian of the spirit transcript of the mind of the sleeping survivor. The assigned seraphim is the keeper of the surviving identity—the immortal soul—as far as it has evolved. And when these two, the Adjuster and the seraphim, reunite their personality trusts, the new individual constitutes the resurrection of the old personality, the survival of the evolving morontia identity of the soul. Such a reassociation of soul and Adjuster is quite properly called a resurrection, a reassembly of personality factors; but even this does not entirely explain the reappearance of the surviving personality. Though you will probably never understand the fact of such an inexplicable transaction, you will sometime experientially know the truth of it if you do not reject the plan of mortal survival.

30:4.16 The plan of initial mortal detention on seven worlds of progressive training is nearly universal in Orvonton. In each local system of approximately one thousand inhabited planets there are seven mansion worlds, usually satellites or subsatellites of the system capital. They are the receiving worlds for the majority of ascending mortals.

30:4.17 Sometimes all training worlds of mortal residence are called universe “mansions,” and it was to such spheres that Jesus alluded when he said: “In my Father's house are many mansions.” From here on, within a given group of spheres like the mansion worlds, ascenders will progress individually from one sphere to another and from one phase of life to another, but they will always advance from one stage of universe study to another in class formation.

30:4.18 4. Morontia Progressors. From the mansion worlds on up through the spheres of the system, constellation, and the universe, mortals are classed as morontia progressors; they are traversing the transition spheres of mortal ascension. As the ascending mortals progress from the lower to the higher of the morontia worlds, they serve on countless assignments in association with their teachers and in company with their more advanced and senior brethren.

30:4.19 Morontia progression pertains to continuing advancement of intellect, spirit, and personality form. Survivors are still three-natured beings. Throughout the entire morontia experience they are wards of the local universe. The regime of the superuniverse does not function until the spirit career begins.
30:4.20 Mortals acquire real spirit identity just before they leave the local universe headquarters for the receiving worlds of the minor sectors of the superuniverse. Passing from the final morontia stage to the first or lowest spirit status is but a slight transition. The mind, personality, and character are unchanged by such an advance; only does the form undergo modification. But the spirit form is just as real as the morontia body, and it is equally discernible.

30:4.21 Before departing from their native local universes for the superuniverse receiving worlds, the mortals of time are recipients of spirit confirmation from the Creator Son and the local universe Mother Spirit. From this point on, the status of the ascending mortal is forever settled. Superuniverse wards have never been known to go astray. Ascending seraphim are also advanced in angelic standing at the time of their departure from the local universes.

30:4.22 5. Superuniverse Wards. All ascenders arriving on the training worlds of the superuniverses become the wards of the Ancients of Days; they have traversed the morontia life of the local universe and are now accredited spirits. As young spirits they begin the ascension of the superuniverse system of training and culture, extending from the receiving spheres of their minor sector in through the study worlds of the ten major sectors and on to the higher cultural spheres of the superuniverse headquarters.

30:4.23 There are three orders of student spirits in accordance with their sojourn upon the minor sector, major sectors, and the superuniverse headquarters worlds of spirit progression. As morontia ascenders studied and worked on the worlds of the local universe, so spirit ascenders continue to master new worlds while they practice at giving out to others that which they have imbibed at the experiential founts of wisdom. But going to school as a spirit being in the superuniverse career is very unlike anything that has ever entered the imaginative realms of the material mind of man.

30:4.24 Before leaving the superuniverse for Havona, these ascending spirits receive the same thorough course in superuniverse management that they received during their morontia experience in local universe supervision. Before spirit mortals reach Havona, their chief study, but not exclusive occupation, is the mastery of local and superuniverse administration. The reason for all of this experience is not now fully apparent, but no doubt such training is wise and necessary in view of their possible future destiny as members of the Corps of the Finality.

30:4.25 The superuniverse regime is not the same for all ascending mortals. They receive the same general education, but special groups and classes are carried through special courses of instruction and are put through specific courses of training.

30:4.26 6. Havona Pilgrims. When spirit development is complete, even though not replete, then the surviving mortal prepares for the long flight to Havona, the haven of evolutionary spirits. On earth you were a creature of flesh and blood; through the local universe you were a morontia being; through the superuniverse you were an evolving spirit; with your arrival on the receiving worlds of Havona your spiritual education begins in reality and in earnest; your eventual appearance on Paradise will be as a perfected spirit.

30:4.27 The journey from the superuniverse headquarters to the Havona receiving spheres is always made alone. From now on no more class or group instruction will be administered. You are through with the technical and administrative training of the evolutionary worlds of time and space. Now begins your personal education, your individual spiritual training. From first to last, throughout all Havona, the instruction is personal and threefold in nature: intellectual, spiritual, and experiential.

30:4.28 The first act of your Havona career will be to recognize and thank your transport seconaphim for the long and safe journey. Then you are presented to those beings who will sponsor your early Havona activities. Next you go to register your arrival and prepare your message of thanksgiving and adoration for dispatch to the Creator Son of your local universe, the universe Father who made possible your sonship career. This concludes the formalities of the Havona arrival; whereupon you are accorded a long period of leisure for free observation, and this affords opportunity for looking up your friends, fellows, and associates of the long ascension experience. You may also consult the broadcasts to ascertain who of your fellow pilgrims have departed for Havona since the time of your leaving Uversa.

30:4.29 The fact of your arrival on the receiving worlds of Havona will be duly transmitted to the headquarters of your local universe and personally conveyed to your seraphic guardian, wherever that seraphim may chance to be.

30:4.30 The ascendant mortals have been thoroughly trained in the affairs of the evolutionary worlds of space; now they begin their long and profitable contact with the created spheres of perfection. What a preparation for some future work is afforded by this combined, unique, and extraordinary experience! But I cannot tell you about Havona; you must see these worlds to appreciate their glory or to understand their grandeur.

30:4.31 7. Paradise Arrivals. On reaching Paradise with residential status, you begin the progressive course in divinity and absonity. Your residence on Paradise signifies that you have found God, and that you are to be mustered into the Mortal Corps of the Finality. Of all the creatures of the grand universe, only those who are Father fused are mustered into the Mortal Corps of the Finality. Only such individuals take the finaliter oath. Other beings of Paradise perfection or attainment may be temporarily attached to this finality corps, but they are not of eternal assignment to the unknown and unrevealed mission of this accumulating host of the evolutionary and perfected veterans of time and space.
30:4.32 Paradise arrivals are accorded a period of freedom, after which they begin their associations with the seven groups of the primary supernaphim. They are designated Paradise graduates when they have finished their course with the conductors of worship and then, as finaliters, are assigned on observational and co-operative service to the ends of the far-flung creation. As yet there seems to be no specific or settled employment for the Mortal Corps of Finaliters, though they serve in many capacities on worlds settled in light and life.

30:4.33 If there should be no future or unrevealed destiny for the Mortal Corps of the Finality, the present assignment of these ascendant beings would be altogether adequate and glorious. Their present destiny wholly justifies the universal plan of evolutionary ascent. But the future ages of the evolution of the spheres of outer space will undoubtedly further elaborate, and with more repleteness divinely illuminate, the wisdom and loving- kindness of the Gods in the execution of their divine plan of human survival and mortal ascension.

30:4.34 This narrative, together with what has been revealed to you and with what you may acquire in connection with instruction respecting your own world, presents an outline of the career of an ascending mortal. The story varies considerably in the different superuniverses, but this recital affords a glimpse of the average plan of mortal progression as it is operative in the local universe of Nebadon and in the seventh segment of the grand universe, the superuniverse of Orvonton.

30:4.10 1. Planetary Mortals. Mortals are all animal-origin evolutionary beings of ascendant potential. In origin, nature, and destiny these various groups and types of human beings are not wholly unlike the Urantia peoples. The human races of each world receive the same ministry of the Sons of God and enjoy the presence of the ministering spirits of time. After natural death all types of ascenders fraternize as one morontia family on the mansion worlds.


30:4.11 2. Sleeping Survivors. All mortals of survival status, in the custody of personal guardians of destiny, pass through the portals of natural death and, on the third period, personalize on the mansion worlds. Those accredited beings who have, for any reason, been unable to attain that level of intelligence mastery and endowment of spirituality which would entitle them to personal guardians, cannot thus immediately and directly go to the mansion worlds. Such surviving souls must rest in unconscious sleep until the judgment day of a new epoch, a new dispensation, the coming of a Son of God to call the rolls of the age and adjudicate the realm, and this is the general practice throughout all Nebadon. It was said of Christ Michael that, when he ascended on high at the conclusion of his work on earth, “He led a great multitude of captives.” And these captives were the sleeping survivors from the days of Adam to the day of the Master's resurrection on Urantia.

30:4.12 The passing of time is of no moment to sleeping mortals; they are wholly unconscious and oblivious to the length of their rest. On reassembly of personality at the end of an age, those who have slept five thousand years will react no differently than those who have rested five days. Aside from this time delay these survivors pass on through the ascension regime identically with those who avoid the longer or shorter sleep of death.

30:4.13 These dispensational classes of world pilgrims are utilized for group morontia activities in the work of the local universes. There is a great advantage in the mobilization of such enormous groups; they are thus kept together for long periods of effective service.

30:4.14 3. Mansion World Students. All surviving mortals who reawaken on the mansion worlds belong to this class.

30:4.15 The physical body of mortal flesh is not a part of the reassembly of the sleeping survivor; the physical body has returned to dust. The seraphim of assignment sponsors the new body, the morontia form, as the new life vehicle for the immortal soul and for the indwelling of the returned Adjuster. Such carries on a very detailed systematic depiction of the soul's adventure of ascension and spirit-perfection, among the various grades and orders of universe service. Most interesting is the consistent systematic presentation of a logical and orderly 'organization' of the entire process of the soul's ascension, being inherent in the worlds of space and time, in the greater cosmic context of the purpose, plan and destiny of mortals, fulfilling their purpose for being and their divine potential and possibilities of endless universe service.

The idea of 'fusion' with that divine fragment within, the 'thought-adjuster', whereby the soul joins with true 'God', and becomes immortal, on his way to a perfected spirit progressor, is consonant with the impulse of religion, in tune with the will of Spirit, and in full harmony with life's motivation towards unfolding potential and exploring all possibilities that the marriage and cooperation of man with God affords.

"Never before had the apostles been so shocked as they were upon hearing this recounting of the growth of the concept of God in the Jewish minds of previous generations; they were too bewildered to ask questions. As they sat before Jesus in silence, the Master continued: “And you would have known these truths had you read the Scriptures. Have you not read in Samuel where it says: `And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, so much so that he moved David against them, saying, go number Israel and Judah'? Some critics have seen the contradictions in the OT as proof of human invention, fallibility or creative fiction, however we note here the revelators point to changes in texts indicating an advancement of understanding and knowledge of God, at least conceptually speaking....as these concepts expand via both 'evolved' religion...and 'revealed' religion.

The issue of the older tablets of the law falling to the ground and being destroyed and new tablets being written may have figurative significance or meaning, but in a dualistic world we would always include both 'negative' and 'positive' aspects of anything, so that both elements or sides to any equation or proposition exist, relatively speaking.

The mandate to love God and your neighbor concludes man's whole duty as his relationship with the invisible and visible beings with whom he interacts....which are all images and representations of God anyhow, which is why loving your neighbor IS loving God. The universal whole includes all parts of itself as one whole. Hence the positive aspect of universal law holds as love, in its positive life affirming and fostering qualities. Any transgression of the law of love, is 'sin' (to miss the mark of perfection). Hence we read in John, that 'sin' is a transgressing, infraction, distortion, corruption or some subterfuge of love. As long as any sin exists, only love itself can absolve, atone and complete that infraction or transgression of the law, since only love fulfills all. (the law is a law unto itself, fully perfect, divine, whole, hence love is the WAY).

The golden rule is further a capsule of the eternal law (love), and some schools also feature the negative aspect of the law as not doing anything to others, that you would not have done to you, while Jesus positive aspect emphasizes 'right doing' which are but two sides of the same coin.

There is an even higher insight teaching into the 'golden rule' which inspires even deeper thinking on the subject, that over-rides to a certain extent any earthly concept of a 'golden rule' founded upon the principle of botherhood, and love for all humanity. This kind of love does not create its own standards to mirror or project, but serves with utmost care to render the highest good and most beneficent service to all souls everywhere. This principle of love for humanity (brotherhood/sisterhood) of all, transcends the 'golden rule' whose 'rule' may be conditioned or influenced by one's own imperfections or biases. More on the golden rule from a Spiritualist perspective here.

On this point we would note that the UB does in some ways represent a revelation of cosmic spiritualism, circumfrencing an eternity-plan of unending progress for all souls, respecting the free will choice of each individual in its life-path and ultimate destiny. Its greater context is 'cosmic', while the school and life experience of learning is here in the flesh, on a material world as mortals.

Thru-out the whole of it, Jesus main theme of the law of the kingdom is centered upon the revelation of God as LOVE, whose very laws and principles are derived from that pure principle itself, which is the nucleus and creative will supporting conducting all life.
