You wanna make that argument, fine. Then tell me exactly what the redeemable feature of the Confederacy was.

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights (neither of which have literally anything to do with the present consideration) are very important to me.
You dare say all sorts of things. Most of them irredeemably stupid as they pertain to this particular.

So was Truman at one point. So was Wallace. Men can change. But when you put a man in Confederate uniform on a pedestal you've rather narrowed the interpretation and field.
lain: If anyone suggested a monument to Truman in Klan sheet it would be about as stupid a notion.
He absolutely was, but he's not being memorialized for his role in allowing that institution to continue.
So that sort of business isn't really on par or going to help you prop up those who did.
